I really like to put greens in with any smoothie, but I particularly like the pineapple-orange-banana combo. I also really like blueberry smoothies, and those camoflage the greens well if the color might be an issue (say, with kids).

Thanks everyone!

I have had several different types of spinach smoothies this week, and I just made myself an avocado, blueberry, and pear smoothie with ground flaxseed. Yummy!

I started out with recipes but I got lazy so now I just chuck whatever I have in - top it with a handful of kale or spinach! lol

The past two days I have had melon (cantalop - half) with a pear (or half a mango) and half a banana - squeezed half a lemon on it (I always add ground sprouted linseed to it -and always add a bit of water to help it get going in the blender) - add the handful of spinach or kale and...yummy! hehe

My favorite is the simplest one I've ever tried:

Fill blender to top with loosely packed torn spinach. Add a little water, maybe half a cup? Blend until the greens are liquified. Then add some sliced ripe mango, one whole mango. I also like to add a few slices of frozen banana.

It is so creamy and delicious.

I got this from Karen Knowler: http://www.therawfoodcoach.com

I just made (and drank) my first ever green smoothie!!! Even DH loved it, yay! I put a handful of spinach, a plum, 2 bananas, and 3/4 cup of water together, and wow! Tasty stuff! This is going to be an everyday thing here, for sure! I can't wait to try different varieties! :

My green lemonade is from 'The raw food detox diet' book.
Basically just a few stalks of kale, a few leaves of romaine lettuce, 1-2 apples, 1 whole lemon, some carrots, 1-2" fresh ginger, some water = everything into the juicer, done.
I mainly get ~20-24 oz out of this and have it pretty much every day.

Oooh green smoothies. I'm addicted to them.

Our favorites:

2 frozen bananas
1-2 apples with skins on
LOTS of spinach
Water to blend
Sometimes we add stevia

2 frozen bananas
1 orange
Kale or spinach
Water

We make giant batches to last throughout the day...DH and I are both drinking at least 32 oz. a day now. Come on over to our Green Smoothie group for more recipes...join the challenge too!

I make a smoothie for my 3 year old with a decent sized handful of kale, 3/4 cup soymilk, 1/2 cup shredded carrot, a teaspoon of honey or agave, frozen strawberries and blueberries, wheat germ, almond butter, flax seed oil, and a banana. I figure if she drinks it, I really don't need to worry if all she eats is buttered toast, noodles and morning o's the rest of the day.

My favorite green smoothie is a variation of Ridgerunner's Blended Spinach Salad.

1 C fresh pineapple
1 orange
1 apple
handful of baby carrots
1/8 slice lemon
a few handfuls baby spinach

Blend everything but the spinach first until it's a nice consistency, and then add the spinach and blend. Very citrus-y and light. My boys have been drinking this since around their 2nd birthday and they lovelovelove it. I do too.
