If I have any program specific stuff I try to find a buy/sell/trade or swap board specific to that program. ie WTM, MUS, FIAR all have yahoo groups for this purpose.

YES!!! i can't believe i didn't mention that too! great point teastaigh!! freecycle, craigslist, and thrift stores. those are actually my FIRST choice!!!!

I don't have any yet, but when I do, our local hs group has a library where you can donate curicculum.
So far, that has been a great resource for us starting out, since we can look at and try stuff without buying it. I hope I can return the favor with anything we buy.
