From what I've read, the fewer the pieces the easier to clean, and some argue against having a splash guard b/c of the possibility of accidents, making it harder to get on and off. Potty chairs v. seats to go on the big potty, b/c kiddos may feel more secure, more able to "push" with their legs touching the floor.

That's said, we have a one-piece, saddle-shaped potty that came with the "Once Upon a Potty" book, and DD seems really comfortable in it. It has a built-in handle that makes it super easy to move around and clean.

I also like that it's white - easy to see colors which, you know, is sometimes helpful in seeing how DD's tummy is doing!!

We use the freedom potty for the toilet. I like that ds is comfortable using both. So we have the BB in our living room and he uses the FP in the bathroom.

: Also, DD was too short for any of the regular potty chairs when we starting potty learning. She fit comfortably on the little potty and her feet touched the floor.

we have 3 different styles of potty
baby bjorn little potty used everyday at home
one for grama's house that has to go he pee's threw the holes where the potty seats slides in and out
and the one i used for my dd that he also cant use because of the pee coming threw the hole
my advice get a one peice with no parts, nothing to get pee inside it. i like the low back bjorn because he is able to sit on his own and if the seat is turned he still gets on it(dont know why or how he does it) my ds is 20 months and can empty the potty on his own and he like to show you that he peed first so this means him prancing around the place carring the potty

Yeah, we have a little tiny potty from Ikea. I like that its one piece so its easy to clean, which would be really helpful for me if dd would ever pee/poop on it!!

We are using the Baby Bjorn big potty, and I am so thrilled with it. That is especially considering the piece of junk I had the last time around.

We have this one too.... DD hasn't used it "correctly" yet, but sure loves wearing the insert as a hat.
