The one Fuzzibuns dipe I got to try on my baby (7.5 weeks, about 11 or 11.5 pounds) doesn't seem to fit right - I use a prefold in the pocket for now, and it seems like the waist needs to be cinched really tight but if I try to snap the second row of snaps, it gets really tight around her thighs. If I don't snap that second row, then the corners of the dipe hang out and wick wetness onto her clothes. Does that make any sense? Basically I'm snapping the top snaps way in the middle and not snapping the second row at all. I don't think she has particularly chubby thighs.... this doesn't seem right to me, I don't get how it's supposed to fit. Plus, with the prefold at least, it seems HUGE on her, very bulky, and she looks really funny in some of her clothes. Other CDs I got don't have these problems, but I really like the softness of the FBs material and the idea of the pockets... help!

You might try a trimmer absorbant layer. I have trouble if I have too much poof in them.

I would try a different insert. The MOE micro-terry inserts are very trim and that way you will be able to snap at the thigh which will prevent wicking. Also wondering about the sizing, is you FB a small or x-small? If it's a small then maybe it's still a little big for you DS right now. But he will soon fill it up when he puts on a little more weight.

I would try something trimmer as a stuffer - some hemp or microfiber towel, maybe you cuold get the bottom snaps done then.

it may be that fb just won't work for you - not all babes can wear all dipes, have you tried any other pockets? I can't use FB on my dd, they don't fit her well at all.

I have only tried the FBs, no other pockets, and only the prefolds in them.... I've been CDing only part time because I don't have the money right now to buy a stash and have just been using the few that were given to me as gifts (while I use up the disposables that were also given to me)...... I hope to go cloth full-time in the future. So I'll have to wait to see about a thinner insert and other types of pockets....what pocket dipes work well for babies who have the thin-waist, chubby-thigh problem with FBs?

I use FB on my chubby thigh fellow. I also use prefolds with out a problem.

What size FBs are you using right now?

When I used FB on my ds (also thin-waisted & chubby-thighed) I put a Cottonbabies microfiber insert in the pocket. It made for a trim but absorbant dipe, and it fit him well.

I find prefolds make the diaper bulkier and wouldn't fit right when he was almost ready for mediums. Try getting a trimmer insert.

I agree with the pps--use less stuffing or use a MOE insert. You really need to snap the second row of snaps. When I don't do that (somebody forgets, etc.) they always leak.
