Howdy, everybody.

I've got some sinus crud too - hopefully it won't go into a full blown cold.

This weekend has been no fun at all. I have spent most of it studying for my public administration final. It's tomorrow night; aside from getting a B in the class, my biggest ambition is to get through the test without urgently needing to use the restroom. : I am pretty tired these days, so studying has been more difficult. Before, I was aiming for an A, but now I don't know that I can accomplish that.

In other big news, we bought a new car for DH. I'm glad to be done with that ordeal - licensing is the next hurdle, but that's pretty minor compared to the looking, deciding, haggling and financing. We went with a Mitsubishi Outlander - not my first choice but it's not my car either. Happily, we will have room for the hand-me-down baby stuff we will be picking up over the holiday. And, now my husband to take his own car on his fishing trips - the old one was too unreliable.

I'm not at work today (taking a "vacation day" to study), but my supervisors are supposed to discuss my maternity leave today. Crossing my fingers that they will be flexible about working from home a bit. Either way, I'm planning to rack up some OT before I leave, as a financial cushion.

I'm starting to feel a bit better here - still pretty gunky, but not totally miserable like I've been!
I'm at 30 weeks now - 3/4 of the way there!

Hi there mamas. It's been way too long since I was here. I have been thinking of you all and hope that everyone is well and still here with us.
It was dd's 2nd birthday on the 3rd, followed by a chaotic birthday party on the 4th, which totally wiped me out. My sister has been visiting from the UK, and has just gone back sadly. We had a great time, it went so quickly, but now I can get back to normal, whatever that is.

I have been having quite a bit of nausea in the mornings, and do throw up too, but feel so much better afterwards. A few days ago I had some dizzy spells and feeling like I was going to pass out / get sick. I finally called my midwife yesterday and she said that it was vertigo and totally normal. Anyone else experience this?

A couple of days ago the baby was moving so much at night that it felt like he/she was trying to get out. It kind of hurt actually, never felt it that hard before, so I was lying in bed, just taking it all in. Maybe the food I ate for dinner didn't agree with them!!

I have to find the time to make some cookies with dd, she just loves to mix and stir and dip her fingers in!
Yesterday we put up our Christmas tree and dh decorated the house, both outside and in. The outside now looks like Clark Griswalds in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation!!

Hi all, just subscribing. I'm so sorry so many of you are feeling sick. I wish I could make you soup and give you hugs.

Things are really not going well over here. They're going fine with me and the baby, and our health, but I'm just dealing with a bunch of unsupportive crud from my parents, and recently found out from dh that we are way more in debt than I realized (he's been doing the bills). Anyway, I don't even want to get into it, but I've just been really, really down lately.

lousli - so sorry to hear about the family and the debt stuff. i hope that dh will also come up with a reasonable way to deal with the bills and that you will not have to worry about it so much. my mother always said, "it will find a way to work out, you just have to give it over." she was Dutch (hence the odd expression). i'm not sure exactly what it means but i always find it oddly comforting. sending you hugs.

jasmine - sorry you've been nauseous again. hope it doesn't stick around!

Besides starting morning sickness symptoms again, I've been getting dizzy. It happened the first time in the shower. I think the combo of standing and the hot water did it. My friend who is a nurse said that it's because my blood pressure could be fluctuating... ?

I can finally now say that I do want the baby out!! I'm actually looking forward to L&D!

Also, I think I did too many squats at yoga...I'm in pain down there!

So, everyone feels like crap, how quaint!
I just got back from the plastic surgeon and in his opinion I do have an abcess from the bite wound that is slowly turning into cellulitis. The IV antibiotic that usually works for my cellulitis is definitely not safe during pregnancy. They gave me one dose of an IV antibiotic that is safe but it's not really the appropriate one for bacteria from a cat mouth. So for now, he did that and he injected a small amount of the appropriate antibiotic right into the wound area, he assured me that so very little of it would go systemic (if any at all) and the amount he injected was only 1/10 of a normal dose but he's hoping it will work right at the site. I have to see him again on Thursday (or sooner if it starts to spread from my hand) and if he doesn't like what he sees he will freeze my hand and place a drain in the bite wound--should be very pretty for Christmas!
I want this baby out!!!!!! I admit it's cool when I can see my belly moving and jumping around but I want to hold her and look into her eyes. And now I'm crying once again. I'm going to look into stock in Kleenex.

Hi everyone. Just wanted to pop in before I shut down the computer and lie down for a bit. I slept poorly last night and poor dh had to get up at 4 a.m. to drive to Canada.

We now have a floor in our upstairs bathroom! I never thought I'd be so happy to see plywood! Our carpenter was asking about the insulation and what was there before and I honestly couldn't remember, it's been gutted for over two years. We just might make our "have running water upstairs/tub to labor in" baby deadline yet!

I'm going to a Women's Fellowship cookie swap later tonight. I'm looking forward to the company there and a chance to bring home several dozen awesome cookies for the holiday crowd.

Hope you're all well...

M/w appt. tomorrow, with ds in tow. I'll let you know how it goes. Stell, I'm 30 weeks this week, too!

Be well. susan

Hi Ladies,

Just subscribing! Had a crazy busy weekend and was fearful that I wasn't going to have time to make my baby swap gifts but *phew* got them done and they are on their merry way as of today

I got my gift from Periwinkle on Saturday - it was soooo exciting. I saw a package sitting there and figured it was some Christmas stuff I had ordered for the boys so was planning on just grabbing it and hiding it in my closet when I glanced at the label and saw it was for me!! Yippee!

Had this weird fluid leek yesterday afternoon that kind of freaked me out. I was sitting on the couch and all of a sudden felt like this little rush of fluid and then a slower leak. It had a very distinctive sweet scent to it. Clearly not urine, but not like any discharge I've had before either - like clear water. It felt like I did when my water broke with youngest DS - only in that case I stood up and the fluid kept coming and didn't stop. In this case I got up and nothing else happened. I ended up lying down for the rest of the day and figured I would call my OB if I felt any more but I didn't, so that's a relief.

I just got home from my drive from FL. I actually made it in 8 1/2 hours even with stopping every chance I got to pee and eat. Now I'm trying to type my update but there's a kitty cat who wants me to pay attention to him and not the keyboard. I'd better run and give him some lovings or he might just take out the mouse cord. Anyways, I'm back...and it's supposed to be in the teens tonight...I already miss home. At least I brought back a flat of strawberries and some beautiful plants for the house.

Well, It looks like I will be having this baby on January 25th now. So, I wonder if I will be the first to deliver? It is a full 2 weeks before my due date - I am a little nervous about that but think things should be fine. Ds came at 41 weeks and he was over 9lbs!

I am checking my blood sugar 4 times a day and doing okay with the GD diet. I miss pure sugar though! We had a sonogram today and they think the baby is 5 lbs 2oz or so! That seems so big!

I am also having a lot of ligament pain in my upper abdomen. I could not even walk around and do anything yesterday. I want to get out of this house - I have so many Christmas errands to run! Oh well, doctor says to rest and drink lots of water. I am back to getting up 3-4 times at night to pee!

Sorry to hear about everyone's troubles. I am keeping you and our babies in my prayers! I can't wait until we all have out babies on the OUTSIDE!

Hi All.

Lesely - so sorry to hear about your troubles. Not a great time to find such things out. Hope you're coping ok. Breathe, and try to focus on the positive (sorry - hope that doesn't annoy you)

Shannon - wow - I forgot your cat bite story - how awful! Hope it heals quickly.

big hugs to everyone feeling yukky and down. I was feeling pretty down and irritable most of the weekend, but today was better. I was feeling pretty pooped and overwhelmed, so I called in sick. It was good - wrote Christmas cards...that's all I accomplished prettymuch all day. Man, a day off whips past...! Maybe I'll stay home again tomorrow...I just feel there's been a real shift in the last week, and that I need to listen to my body's signals and stop and rest.

Had my mw appt today - I'm at 30 weeks. I met a different mw (my primary and backup will be at the birth, but just in case, they encourage clients to meet other mws in the practice), and both dh and I really liked her...I will sleep on it, but I'm having "switching" thoughts...don't know if it would even be possible...maybe at least to have her be my backup...baby's head is down, and I'm measuring on target. I could not provide a very significant urine sample...the first time, it came back from the lab as "contaminated", the second time, I had a hard time getting enough in the bottle, so it came back "insufficient", and today- well - I think my urethra is feeling the pressure - I can't aim very well, and while I seem to pee all the time, at the times I need to produce, there isn't a whole lot...I'm going to develop a complex... :LOL

hevea...I thought I was the only one with bad aim now. I used to have no problem giving urine samples and now I dread them because I end up with half of it on my hand before I can catch any in the cup. :LOL

DH's uncle and aunt sent us a baby gift. Actually several. One is a hand crocheted sweater, blanket, booties, cap, and bonnet all made by his great aunt (who has been dead for years) and were saved just for when DH had a baby. They also sent us some various baby stuff and a check for a lot of money. I was so shocked when I saw the amount on the check I just about choked to death. The outfit is absolutely gorgeous. Words cannot describe how beautiful it is. Well, now we have our first picture outfit and we'll be sure to use the silver baby rattle our friends bought us from Tiffany's. LOL...man I feel rich.

I also got some diapers I bought off of ebay. My stash is essentially complete except for some little things that I want. I feel so good.

And then I got the pamper your baby shower gift today as well. It feels like christmas!!!! Well I'm off to post my thank you in the thanks thread...but I also want to say thanks here too. Thank you so much Terenia...I love everything!!!

Wow, sorry I have been so absent. I have been on boards, but forget to make it here.

Sorry to hear so many are not feeling well. Sending feel-better vibes your way.

I am measuring 3 weeks ahead of edd ( I am 30 wks......measuring 33). My last two babes came two weeks early, so that is not too surprising, I am not going to make any presumptions though.

Any second (or more) time mamas feeling pressure, like pushing? I do every now and then.

Ugh, I am not happy about our financial situation either. I have yet to get diapers for my kids and so now I need stashes for a 2 yo, 9 mo old and a newborn. I have no idea how I am going to afford it and I just want to .

Anyway, I will be more present on this thread. Talk soon.
