I'm here, too. We did just do this. January flew by so fast that winter hasn't even found Indiana yet. Wondering if we'll miss the whole thing this year. It has been in the upper 40s and 50s the last week, and tmw is more of the same. So odd! Not complaining, though! Hope we'll get some real snow so DD can put on her snowsuit and go play in it. My 5th winter here, and I have STILL not made a snowman yet. The last two years were very snowy, but I had back surgery and was prego, and then last year I was all alone w/DD, who was just a baby way back then. Seems like a lifetime ago. Pre-divorce.

My birthday was two days ago. I'm 32, but I feel 5 years younger than I did when I got married, and 10 years younger than I did after living with him for the first year.

I am loving life. Taking Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace course at my church, and getting SERIOUS about financial planning and saving. February will be the first month I start with an actual budget plan for where every dollar is going, instead of mostly mental estimation. It was sobering putting it all down in a online budget planner. I really have very little wiggle room. If I had stayed in the last house I rented (it got foreclosed on), there is no way I could have survived financially. I am so so soo thankful we got into subsidized housing. Not a day goes by that I don't thank God for how everything happened in the last year.

Hey BB: I did Dave Ramsey when we did our bk after DS was born and got a lot of value out of it! Mvelopes.com helps me a lot! I tried his budgeting website and it was ok, but didn't let me do things all in one place. I've been using Mvelopes for four years. I'm not perfect, but when I deviate, I know what I'm doing. ;-)

I'm interested! I need to get serious about budgeting (esp since I just committed to saving a minimum of 4-6% of my income in my retirement fund - HOLY SHIT I HAVE A RETIREMENT ACCOUNT??!! I feel old), and I've never budgeted before.

Advice? I'm really bad at it.
