I keep asking myself, what has gotten into you? I just feel so tired and for a lack of better words, crappie. : I am having a horrible time breathing and that just really aggravated me considering I am only a day short of 24 weeks and I know this breathing issue shouldn't be one at this point. I feel like I am getting huge way to fast and I just keep thinking how big I got with my first DS and how much bigger I am with this LO in comparison. I have such a long way to go and to make it worse; I just know it is going to get a lot worse. On the bright side, I have stopped leaking amniotic fluid but now I am on "light" bed rest and need to abstain from intercourse. :. So what in the heck am I supposed to do? Lay around and get huger from my lack of activity. No yoga, no sex, no shopping, no long walks, just lying around getting fat and eating. This is so depressing. I just hope and pray that these next couple of months go by fast.
Sometimes I have trouble breathing when I get chronically tense, since I tend to breathe shallowly and/or hold my breath. Even if you're on light bed rest, you should be able to do some gentle yoga stretches - any position where you aren't putting pressure on your cervix would be okay, I would think, although I don't know your exact situation. When I was on bedrest with my DS, I'm pretty sure I found some good bedrest stretches online, and I had a handout from the hospital as well. Stretching and deep breathing might make you feel just a teeny bit better. If you have an ipod, you might be able to find some podcasts that guide you through deep breathing for relaxation.
Being on bedrest can be depressing; I totally remember how awful it felt. Hang in there.

i'm so sorry. i've read a lot about stretching being helpful during bed rest. i've had shortness of breath on and off this whole pregnancy. i think it usually happens right before my belly stretches out a little more. focusing on deep breathing exercises seems to help me. i try to do in for 4, hold, out for 8.

I am so sorry. I have heard there are bedrest workout programs. They are simple yoga like workouts that help with stress, posture and breathing. You should ask your provider to recommend something. I hope you feel better!!!
