I am almost 12 weeks and I am exhausted. I sleep 8-9 hrs every night and I take at least 1 nap a day. I have barely enough energy to take a shower some mornings. My morning sickness is getting worse. I feel lightheaded a lot. I just don't remember feeling this bad last time. Today was a new record in laziness. DS (and I ) slept late until 9:30 (got at least 10 hrs of sleep)then by 1230 I had to take a nap. I napped again around 5 and spent most of the day just around the house, I couldn't even manage a walk around the neighborhood.

with my current pergnancy I haven't need TOO MUCH extra sleep but when I was preg with dd back in 05 I needed a ton. Luckily I spent my pregnancy as a SAH also so there was time for naps bakc then. Also, I had no mornign sickness this time around (currently 33 weeks) but, had plenty with dd. When I was preg with dd I would sleep 10 hours per night and usually take one or two naps per day totalling about 3 hours of naps! I was ALWAYS exhausted. I felt like a big lump of lazy. If I took a second to lay my head down on anything I was out in under a minute. Heaven forbid I lay in a horizontal position on the couch or bed to rest my body for a minute... because that minute would turn into 2 solid hours of sleep easy. It made me feel like a slug.

This time around I simply don't have the time for naps with a house, dogs, cats, and a 3 year old to take care of. If dd gets down for a nap in the early afternoon on a day that dh is at work I might get around to a short nap on the couch but, I'm really not tired enough to bother most of the time.

Oh but with dd I slept like a cat all day long. Eat (when I didn't want to puke that is), pee, sleep, pee, eat, sleep, pee, pee, eat, sleep.... etc.

Don't feel bad... or weird... or lazy... it's those oddball hormones and such.

That's exactly what my first trimester was like.. 10-12 hours of sleep, plus a nap or two during the day. I was late for work and class all the time because I just couldn't drag myself out of bed without feeling sick.

I started having a little more energy around 13-14 weeks, so there's still hope for you too!

I felt like crap until about a week ago. So, like...yeah. I don't know if it's normal, but it's definitely not impossible!

I was pretty energetic around 12 weeks, but it's caught up to me now.

If I'm not disturbed, I will sleep in until 1PM. My sister threw a baby shower for me Saturday morning and I fell asleep towards the end of the shower, then slept until midnight.

I can't imagine three more weeks of this!

I was spoiled my first pregnancy, I never felt this bad! It's a good thing DS sleeps great at night and still takes long naps. Today I took a 3 hr nap, I finally started to feel normal around 3 pm.

I personally felt sick and exhausted until about 18 weeks along and one day woke up better! hormones!

I have had a few clients suffering with morning sickness (okay, all day sickness), exhaustion and digestive complaints during pregnancy ease their symptoms with acupuncture.

I hope you all feel better soon...

I'm in this club too though I don't know my due date.
I just remind myself "this too shall pass". With ds1, my morning sickness lasted until 31 weeks and then I had to deal with blood sugar drops. : By the time I felt hungry, I'd be gagging and nearly passing out because my blood sugar was low.

It just absolutely sucks to feel like that. I started feeling better with dd and this pregnancy around 18 weeks. I know that seems so far away. M/s is just wretched.

Have you had your iron levels checked? It might be more than typical early pregnancy tiredness. You could be anemic as well.

They are 'normal' according to blood tests , and I take my iron everyday. I am trying to eat every 3 hrs a meal with some protein. Some days are so much worse than others, it is so frustrating to go from high energy, go-get-her do everything to sleeping away half the day.

I'm always tired. but I also never have slept very well so this is nothing new. I still have HG but it's not quite as bad. I'm on meds to control it though or it gets really bad. by 11 weeks in my last pregnancy I was almost "all better" I'm 13.5 weeks and just waiting for it to kick in any time now heh
