So I'm 37 weeks now... I have been vomiting all day although there are no other signs of labor yet (oh yeah, I've been nesting!) something seems to be going on. Strangely, I have realized all of a sudden that I am officially full term now, and baby might be here any time. I am getting kind of nervous about it now
... Anyone else?

I can't get out of the "I'm only 6 mos pregnant" the reality of baby could come any day has not hit home. I've been in and out of preterm labor a couple times this pregnancy, and each time I've gotten even better at convincing myself I have mos to go. LOL

Maybe I've gotten too good. My husband keeps calling to check on me b/c baby could come at anytime, and I'm like nah we have forever until baby. my procrastination nature is in full swing.

I think, with my earliest due date I'm 37 weeks tomorrow.

Honestly I'm a little freaked out, I am so NOT ready. I mean, I may have the birthing supplies, etc. But, I don't feel emotionally ready (spiritually I'm not in that place) and there are so many things I want to do before I birth!

Is anyone making a list of those last minute things they need to do? I think that is what I should do today to ease my mind somewhat!

Glad to hear I am not the only one! It wasn't like this with my first, perhaps because I had no idea what to expect!

Perhaps that is a good idea! What are the things you still need and want to do?

I think I have all the birth supplies. If I don't, I guess I will find out during labor

Hey, could be...I have a lot of prodomal labor here though. So, I get those for weeks. Sigh. What is making me frustrated now is that I'm concerned now that I'm getting sick. But I did have a lot of cramps like that in the few days before I actually went into labor with my last.

The inlaws came over for Thanksgiving (spent a few days) and FIL was 'getting over' a bad cold. Grrr...

You'd think of course they'd not come over if they were sick...but no.

That's so inconsiderate, they could have warned you and at least asked if it were OK to come over! Being sick while in labor is not the best combination at all!

On the one hand I am really done with this pregnancy now, and want to meet my baby. But on the other hand, I can't believe how quick time has passed and I am freaking out. I am really wondering how my toddler will cope, too. Talking about which, she has been behaving strangely all day long... Do you think kids can sense labor?

*Oops, here's what seems like a contraction, like BH but it seems a bit stronger..* Perhaps the freaking out part is also a sign of impending labor???

I know at 37 weeks I felt like I was nowhere near ready, that this baby had better stay in for months longer.

I'm 39 weeks and 5 days now, and somewhere in the last few days I've felt like my body is starting to get ready, and I'm actually feeling very ready for what is to come. The other night I was having lots more BH than usual, and I keep getting twingy shooting pains in my cervix, and when I woke up this morning I'd lost part of my mucous plug. I still expect the baby to be late, but now maybe not as late as I thought?

For me, I guess that 'prepared' feeling just needed a bit more time.

I dunno with the first from about 32-33 weeks on I was ready. I was ready to be done with pregnancy. this one, I'm totally more zen, maybe too zen. As long as baby gets here before January 1, I'm fine.

My deductible for the year has been paid AND I'm self employed I need all the tax write-offs I can get. :)

I'm up about 2-3 nights a week with strong painful contractions which now that I'm off my meds will probably increase. I've been contracting regularly since I went for a walk at lunch.

But then there's a part of me that for whatever crazy reason feels like this isn't real, like I'm not really pregnant just fat in a very odd way.

Stupid I know, but it's a hard feeling to explain.

Yeah, that's totally what I'm feeling like! I guess the birth will cure that, though

It's wonderful that some of you feel ready, I totally do not! I'm just not in that emotional, physical and spiritual place I usually am before I go into labor.

But I know, I'm just going to be 37 weeks in the next couple of days, so it's unlikely baby is going to come now anyhow.

That's what I keep telling myself - although I'm on the other side of it from you, I'm SOOOO ready for the end. I have been having mad prodromal labor since about the 22nd, but so far it hasn't gotten me anywhere. I'm trying really hard to just keep an open mind and a good attitude... the baby will come. The baby WILL come. Right?

I guess so... you'll have to wait and see
.

I am feeling yet worse today, have not slept all night long because my toddler kept waking for some strange reason. Believe it or not, she kept pointing at my stomach and saying: There's the head, there's the head. Is that weird, or not!?

39 weeks here and sooo done... however I feel there is so much I need to get done in the house. I do not know if that is nesting or not..i do not have the same intense need to clean NOW that I have had in the past.
My sister came in from Alaska on tues. and it has been on the go ever since she got here. She had her first in spetember and had no pressure no BH no nothing until her labor started. With that said she does not really understand how hard it is to move around when this is your 4th and it litteraly feels like the inside of your vagina is being ripped open while a 300lb person jumps up and down on your cervix. Standing around while she decides what she wants to buy for 30 mintues is just not an option.
Ahhh very fustrating...

Anyway I have all my HB things I need. I really do not need to be baking today but I have not done any for about a week and I really feel I need to do some. And my house is dirty... 7 people here now...it is not the easiest place to keep clean. Boy I can not wait for the rest of the family to come in two weeks.

What was I thinking? The first family Christmas in 9 years at my house right after I have a baby!!!!! Agh.....

I have had two other kids but the first was a very premature and abnormal labor that we stopped but then ended up with a very sad induction, the other was induced at 39 weeks (due to maternal distress alas) with no sign I was ever going into labor on my own, so since I'm trying to avoid an induction this time I really do feel like I'm going to be pregnant forever, I don't have the feeling that my body knows how to get started correctly on its own. I'm 38 weeks today and there actually are some slight signs of changes, but I don't believe in it and I'm just not sure I will actually go into labor by myself.

I have GD and I really suspect that I'm going to get some pressure to induce again if I go overdue, and plus I'd really rather not give birth on or directly around christmas so I'd be so happy if baby made his appearence in the next two weeks on his own, but then when I think that it just seems so very unlikely. I'm definitely feeling big and stressed by late pregnancy but it doesn't feel like its going to go anywhere.

Not self employeed here but we were also counting on the tax deduction. And for some reason I really want each of my kids to have their own birth month. (silly really but I want different birthstones, etc) Its kind of unfair that this baby gets that kind of pressure with the tax deduction, it really is silly they do it that way and probably it should be pro-rated anyhow. We need the tax deduction though to pay the doula so its completely connected to the birth! He's got to make it here before New Years or we'll be eating canned soup for a while!
