check this out: honey as blemish fighter

there's a number of natural treatments listed, and frankly i'm shocked that i never knew honey had antibacterial properties. i did a whole face mask last night and spot treatments this morning, and i think it may be helping. everything was a bit less swollen and angry when i got up. who knew?

Wow, great article. I must admit I am a bit worried about putting honey on my face in fear that I will break out worse... but at this point I am willing to try anything! I would love to be able to throw away the clearasil

What a great link!!!
Sometimes I mix up a big concoction of oatmeal, egg yolk, and honey and do a mask followed by a witch hazel toner. Now, I'll add some strawberries! It's nice to find other natural remedies for this awful (and embarrassing) condition. I sometimes wonder when I'll stop getting breakouts- in a year I'll have had acne for 50% of my life... Truly SAD.

I moved from acne directly to roseacea with very little break in between. My skin at 34 is too elderly to deal with clearasil, BUT, nelson's acne gel is terrific, natural, and it doesn't dry out my skin--no flakiness, and it is great for spot treatments. I find it at Whole Foods, but I know you can find it online as well.

Another suggestion--try deep-cleansing facials. A few of these from a great facialist did far more for me than any dermatologist or product. My facialist literally "cured" my problem skin, which I endured for many years.

Also, the type of cleanser you use makes a huge difference. I have had the most luck with Mario Badescu Enzyme cleansing gel. whenever i use something else, my skin seems to regress. The cosmetic line is not all-natural, but their cleansing stuff is great. It's not cheap but not ridiculously expensive either because they don't advertise. I order by mail or find it at nordstroms
