Hello friends!! Wondering if there are any fellow South Dakotans on the board. I am currently in Sioux Falls. I have noticed not a lot of "crunchiness" in this area so me eating organic, wanting to cloth diaper, breastfeed, and have a natural birth seems pretty out there for a lot of people in the area.

We are pregnant with #1- due Feb 26th

I'm in Sioux Falls also!! There are a few of us like-minded ("crunchy") mamas! You may want to attend a B.O.R.N meeting (http://www.born-midwest.org/) , it's the first thursday of the month I believe at the ronning library.
. or Le Leache League, there's a few of us there also! That's the 3rd thursday of the month 7 P.M. at Sioux Valley classroom B.

Coolness. I'm not a mamma yet- pregnant with #1- but I would definitely love to meet up with some like-minded mammas once I become one

I think next month I'm going to bring a fellow preggo to the BORN meeting
I'd love to get into la leche league eventually. We'll be the two that look like middle schoolers (although we're married women just out of college). Can't wait for my big belly and all the dirty looks from those disproving me being a "teenage mom" HAHA.

I'm in Pierre. I teach breastfeeding at our hospital and am 100% attached to my 17 month old. I only know a handful of crunchy gals. Most people I know in real life think I'm a weirdo to nurse a toddler, baby wear, and cloth diaper.

I'm from Wentworth, but I go to Sioux Falls alot.

Yes, try the BORN meetings and LLL. It's not unusual for a pregnant woman to go to LLL meetings. You could also take Bradley Birth Classes, you meet like-minded people there. I think one of the instructors has a flyer up on the East Dakotah Natural Foods bulletin board.

Or come down to the Falls Farmers Market, sometimes you see people wearing their babies there. That's generally a sign of "crunchiness". It's on Sat. mornings from 8am to 1pm across from Falls Park.

How is everyone doing? I would go to the farmers market, except I have such a huge garden in my backyard I have no real need for any more fresh produce. I should try to get out there one of these days though just for fun.

Hey- were are the Bradley birth classes? I have info about the lamaze classes offered through Sioux Valley, but I didnt see any Bradley classes.

I'm in Mpls/St Paul now, but I'm from Brookings. It's so nice to see more "crunchy" mamas back home. I always feel like a freak when I go back. I haven't lived there since 5/98 but visit Sioux Falls, Flandreau, and Brookings a few times a year.

Another from Sioux Falls- one child who is 32 months, and another due in 4 weeks! I can get you info on Bradley classes if you like- the teacher is a friend of mine.
