does anyone know if there is a correlation between taking fenugreek to increase milk supply and early cavities in young children?
I took fenugreek to increase my milk supply when my now two year old was getting teeth (and i was work and pumping alot). Now he has a few bad cavities that came on fast and destoried his teeth.
a friend of mine also took fenugreek when her dd was little and her daughter had a lot bad cavities.
i am just curious as i was just think about this today. i tried looking it up but had no luck.

I took lots of it when my now 2 year old was 6-11 months old -
no cavities that I can see in his mouth.
I had never heard of a connection.

I haven't heard of a connection.. I took fenugreek with both of my children dd is 5 with 3 cavities so far, ds is 4 with 0 cavities or decay.

Just out of curiosity - why would you suspect Fenugreek as opposed to any number of other factors?

oh, mostly because i had not used it before with any of my other children and it was the "new" factor. just thinking that i had used it about the same time as his teeth were coming in, and when he started having issues i was still using it. that is all. just trying to find some reason. i also have been thinking it could be because i took antibiotics for a bad UTI while i was pregnant. or it could just be in the genes as my dad has really poor teeth even though he brushes sees a dentist etc.
just trying to find a cause.

I would be more likely suspect that whatever was out of balance in your body so that your supply was low, is also out of balance in your LO's body.

hmmm. i was taking the fenugreek because i was pumping while at work and it helped. my supply before that was great.
