These are organic birch-derived xylitol candies made in Finland. I haven't found any other source from North America:
http://www.globalsweet.com/p/MI240.html
"Guaranteed free of allergens and GMO ingredients". BTW, I haven't tried ordering or using these. Apparently shipping to Canada is quite expensive.

Most xylitol candies are made in China, and derived from corn, sometimes GMO corn.

thanks for posting that, ksenia! i'd really like birch xylitol, even for baking sometimes. the corn stuff scares me as we have corn sensitivities anyway...i hadn't even thought about gmo

i hope something happens with shipping, or a canadian company...

I just checked the shipping policy, for orders from the lower 48 US states, orders over 100$ get free shipping:

"If your order is $100 or more you qualify for free shipping. The "Free Shipping" option will automatically be made available for you to select in the "Ship via" dropdown menu. Free Shipping does not apply to orders shipping to Alaska and Hawaii or to APOs and FPOs."

Unfortunately I'm in state # 49 (Alaska), so it wouldn't apply to me, but if someone "down south" would be willing to be the middle man, we could all contribute to a "free shipping"-sized order and then have smaller packages sent to each of us by regular mail....? That way, even shipping to Canada should be affordable.....

I'd be interested in going in on such an order.....if maybe someone else living in the lower 48 would like to organize one....?

I've emailed the company to see if they'd give a deal on a bulk order. But we would need to discuss details on MDC's coop board .

Where do you buy that....?

Up to now, the only xylitol candies I have tried are the ones from emeraldsugars (the "sours") and the spry mints.

Found the mints here. For the amount of xylitol, it's definitely more expensive than xponent, but good to know about .

So I called customer service and I was able get a slower, cheaper postal rate (USPS Priority Mail) from GlobalSweet than their defaults - US$24.10 for 14 pkgs of the mints. Still ugh.

Just tried the Xponent candies -- they are very similar to the Spry ones .
