I've made four T&T diapers so far. The first one wasn't bad looking (the embroidery that I put on it was off-center, though). The second one was hideous (I used a knit outer and I was too impatient, so everything got bunched up and ugly). The third one was pretty good, but the wings were ridiculously long. This is the fourth one, and while I had some issues with the front, I'm pretty pleased with it overall. I used a contrasting color for the overedging on the soaker and doubler, thinking it would pick up the embroidery. Instead it just seems to highlight my lack of skills in overedging! I'll be adding pink snaps whenever I get some (I was trying to stay gn when I ordered snaps, and now it seems that all I can make are girly dipes!)

It's chocolate velour outer and inner with a hidden layer of sherpa, and velour covered hemp doublers.

http://www.PictureTrail.com/gid9350101

I'm sooo jealous. I've been trying to find some chocolate velour but OSDS is out of it .

That is beautiful! I love the embroidery, it suits the 'feel' of the diaper so well!

I know what you mean about contrasting over-edging looking like a ripe mess sometimes... I'm way too impatient sometimes to take my time and make it look perfect, expecially when I'm trying out a new thread or pattern or fabric and I just want to see what it looks like already!

Mama, I'm starting to feel seriously sad for you about this chocolate velour! My local store has a bolt of it, it's on sale for $3 (canadian) a metre... do you want me to send you some?? The store is right down the street... I could send it tomorrow... you could be sewing chocolate diapers by Tuesday...

Thanks for looking, everyone! I knew it's be appreciated here...my dh thinks I'm nuts.

I got the chocolate velour at my local Joanne's. Could you maybe try there, beepsmnms? OSDS's chocolate says it's 100% cotton, but the rest say they're 80/20...don't know if it's a mistake or not. The Joanne's is 80/20. I think it was $6.99/yd when I got it a couple weeks ago, and since the season's changing it might be on sale soon.

Sigh... I keep looking at OSDS to see if they have restocked all their velour... I want to go to Joannes and start looking for fabric but I just don't know what I am looking for or where to look for it!

I got some chocolate velour at my local Joann's too (it's 80/20). It was back in the kiddie fabric section, somewhere between the flannel and terry. I swear they hide this stuff and don't always have it in stock. I started stalking Joann's - once I found 100% cotton velour there and bought a couple yards in pink and yellow, thinking they constantly stocked this.

:

I have since learned THAT lesson and just stalk every so often. I bought a yard or so of chocolate velour and have no CLUE what I'm going to do with it! But it's so much to ship fabric that it's better to snatch it now at Joann's than wait until later and not be able to get it...well, in my book...dh may say something else

Don't forget to look for velour in your thrift stores! I got lucky and found a pretty forest green 80/20 velour dress with same color flower pattern on it. Can't wait to cut it up!
