My oldest nursling is 3.5 and I have been trying forever to get him to decrease his nursing. Up until Sunday he still nursed 10+ times a day no matter what. He is very demanding and would try to pull my clothes off, yell at me and cry if I refused. My partner thought I should wean him, but I know he is not ready to wean. So starting Sunday, I agreed to try to cut him down to only a few times a day, and he took to the schedule very easily! I have tried this before with no success, but now, with no tears, he's on a 5x a day schedule- wakeup (9am), 12, 3, 6, and bedtime (9pm). Wow!!!
I am so relieved to not be fighting over nursing anymore. A simple "that's the rule" is enough for him all of a sudden! My shirt stays on, he is happy when it is time to nurse, and I don't want to cut my boobs off! I never thought he'd be ready to cut back... I imagined nursing every 5 minutes at 10 years old! I can keep up 5x a day for years, with no more threats of cold-turkey weaning.
I do't know if this counts as CLW but we are both happy and that hasn't happened for a long time around here.

Hey that's fantastic for ALL of you! (partner included I bet!) It's good to do what's right for your family. I know that my ds is 16 months and I would be REALLY happy if he only nursed two or three times a day (actually, as long as he's happy, I'm not offering and it's keeping me sane ) I'm glad for you that you found something that's working.
