We use Bumkins with a hemp doubler, but it didn't work for nighttime -- ds would pee right out the side when would sleep on his side.

I had read about wool covers and how great they are for nighttime, but living it South Florida, I never tried one.

Well I got my first Aristocrat and I LOVE IT!!! It is magic! Bed is dry, dry, dry!

But I only got one and two cotton dipes to go inside and I LOST IT!!! I can't find the wool part anywhere!

So I'm off to shop for a new wool outer! Don't know whether to stick with Aristocrats or try something new. I noticed that there are wahms who knit soakers -- would this be the same? Are all wool covers the same? I would love to support a wahm and get one with longer legs (not bikini style). Any suggestions are welcome!

If you are wanting it for night time.. I would say get another crat. But if you are wanting some day time wool yes buy buy by from the wahms. I am not saying the wahms aren't good at night as DS is asleep right now in a pair of wool shorts from Ky baby knits, but if he is a heavy wetter you may do better with a crat. We have both and love them all.

I noticed that there are wahms who knit soakers -- would this be the same? WAHM soakers are hand knit while the crats are machine knit.

Are all wool covers the same? No and yes. They all fuction on the same basic premise but all have their own special perks.lol Some have gussets, some have legs cuffs and some are just your basic soakers.

I would love to support a wahm and get one with longer legs (not bikini style). There are many soaker WAHMs! You have a wide variety to choose
from.

Type of wool? Every WAHM has her favorite type of wool and they all work. Closeness in knit? The stitches in the crat are smaller since it's knit on a machine. Handknits have bigger stitches- and use a thicker yarn then aristocrats. This isn't better or worse( IMO) just different.

That is great to hear about wool. We are spending three weeks in August in Florida and I was not sure what to bring but it sounds like our wool will work just fine.
I have never tried an Aristocrat so I'm not sure how to compare. We usually use either our MM or BBB's at night.

Always happy to hear of a new wool convert :LOL
There are soooooo many types of wool for over diapers.
I have a great wool cover from Luxe. Wool soakers are also a great option.
Have fun shopping, the one thing all wool has in common is it's wonderful breathability!
