When are you going in?

I have an OB intake appointment (apparently with a nurse, this is a new practice for me) and then have yet to schedule my first actual appointment with a doc/mw at that place. I will be 8 weeks at this appointment, figuring on 10-12 weeks for the actual first appointment. I don't want to go in TOO early since I'm already on vitamins and it makes for an awfully long pregnancy.

I'll have my first appointment at 8 weeks. That's standard around here, it seems. All the midwifery groups I've been with have had the first appointment at 8 weeks.

I go in this Thursday at 8 weeks. I have an intake/paperwork appointment at 9 am, and then at 9:45 I have an appointment for my annual exam/prenatal exam.

I had beta tests as soon as I found out that I was pregnant because I just had a miscarriage. I conceived before I had a regular cycle. After the beta tests were confirmed, I was brought in at 6 weeks to date the pregnancy and confirm viability.

I am going in for a meet and greet tomorrow i will be 6 wks 5 days. Its my appointment to check out this midwife group and I am hoping to have someone figured out by next week so I can start being seen around 8. That was the recommendation of this midwife group and the obgyn clinic i have also met with.

I don't have my first prenatal scheduled yet, but I'm on my midwife's calendar for next March at least! She's a close personal friend, and she's one of the first people I told. I'm driving down to her farm on Thursday evening to hang out, and we'll probably schedule our prenatal at that time. She'll probably want to see me around week 12, so it'll be late August/early September before I have an official prenatal.

My new insurance won't let me see the OB coordinator until 8 weeks and then, presumably, and OB around 10 or 12 weeks? The dating u/s is scheduled for about 8.5 weeks.

I have an intake appointment mid-august (I'll be 9 weeks 5 days), and hopefully they'll schedule my first appointment with a midwife then. I'm a little bit concerned that they won't be able to schedule me until after 12 weeks, and I've heard that dating a pregnancy gets fuzzy once you hit the second trimester (anyone know if this is true?)

I'm not sure what will happen if the midwives risk me out of their practice, but I guess I'll have to start frantically searching for a natural-birth-friendly OB, go through the intake process again, and hope that they can get me in reasonably soon after for an appointment. Fingers crossed that I don't get risked out though!

yes, dating ultrasounds get less accurate after you are 12 weeks along. I'm not bent on getting a dating ultrasound, however... I survived 3 pregnancies without one ;) we'll see if they will offer me one outside of the nuchal translucency scan that I plan to decline.

The only reason I feel like I need a dating ultrasound is because I Oed late the cycle that we conceived, so if they go by LMP (which they always do), their EDD will be off, and I don't want them rushing me into being induced when I haven't actually hit full-term yet. Your post actually got me thinking about some questions I've had about prenatal testing, but I put them in a new thread rather than hijack this one

10 wks here... but she's coming to me! :D I'm excited for my first appointment in my living room. It's next week.

My midwife sent me bloodwork papers but I haven't had it done yet... waiting for state insurance to cover it and they take up to 45 days to process each pregnancy.

My first appointment will be on next Monday when I'll be 10 weeks. I didn't figure there was a reason to make an appointment until we could hear a heartbeat. I'm so excited!
