with my OB. Of course I'm nervous that all is well, who isn't right? But the daily puking is a good sign. I've got a long list of questions for her, especially with the holidays and oncall schedules and such. I don't want to be pressured to induce to make life easier for a doc, ya know?

Anyway, I just felt like sharing
It'll be nice to be 'official' and get a due date and all that jazz. Plus, I can knit while I wait haha

Hope you have a wonderful appointment, Beth!
You're wise to collect so many good questions.

If he/she doesn't have time to answer all your questions as fully as you'd like, you can make an appointment specifically just to interview the Dr. Setting up an official interview appointment is your right. As you well know, choosing your care provider is one of the most important decisions in your pregnancy AND also can weigh upon your future child bearing as well. Every Dr. has a way that they like doing things that might include inducing "large" babies (and what's the definition of large?), they might do episiotomies to shave a little time off of labor (
in my book), they might be flexible about continous fetal monitoring, they might be used to 90% of their patients getting epidurals. It's just a matter of finding a provider that meets your needs and helps you have the birth that you want.

Just because you have your first appointment with this practice, doesn't mean you have to stick with them if they don't seem absolutely perfect.
That said, I hope they are!

The funny thing is, she's been my provider for my last two kids. This is the first time I'm not gung ho sure that I wanna stay. There's alot of crap going on where I live with doctor's due to really ridiculous malpractice. There's disagreement between the two docs in the office and so now there's a guy that's her backup instead of the other lady that delivered my first.

Anyway, your points are all incredibly valid. I am fortunate to know that I have easy labor that require little medical intervention. I'd love to do a MW but DH is totally oppossed. I can have a natural birth in the hospital with the doc showing up at the end just as easy so I just said fine unless the OB gives me reason to justifiably change. DH of course doesn't 'get' that birth isn't this big medical event that needs the best doctors in the best places to be successful, of course there are births where that is needed. Mine tend to be pretty straight forward. I gotta get stuff picked up before my MIL arrives to watch the boys

I'm back from my appointment!! Usually with each pregnancy, I get stuck in the office while she delivers at least once... well, today was my lucky day! Fortunately, I had some stuff with me and just went with it... had an awesome visit with my doc. I remember now why I love her so much.

I'm measuring well, 10w2d "officially" pregnant and due on 12/30 (hey, I'm a good guesser since we came to the exact same date!) We laughed, she gave me the total go ahead to nurse my son as long as I wanted and was very supportive. I go back in 4 weeks, I'll have to post the exact date later.
