Ok, so I know its early to be thinking about this, but fathers day is in a few months!!

And, its my boyfriends first fathers day!! Our baby boy is 3 months old right now, and is so loved by both of us - I don't know how to celebrate it!!

What would be a good first fathers day gift??

TIA!!

Also, we'll be celebrating a week early since my best friends wedding is 3,000 miles away the day before fathers day, and so Lincoln and I won't be home on fathers day (my boyfriend isn't going with us b/c of work) - what can I do on fathers day to make it a little special besides a phone call?

I'm wondering, too. I think I'm going to use QOOP and Flickr to make a poster collage or mini-book of various photos of DD and DH.

Since you won't be with your DP on Father's Day, maybe hide some small items for him to find around the house from your DS with the final item being his favorite meal in the freezer?

For DH's first father's day, money was a little tight. He needed new tennis shoes, and wearing and extra-wide I just can't get them for under $40. That didn't leave a lot of room for a present, kwim? Then I came up with this idea. He didn't know I'd gotten him the new shoes yet, so I wrapped them up for Father's Day with a note from DS about how DH was going to need those soon because he'd be chasing him all over the house. DH STILL talks about how great that was and it was alost 7 yrs ago!

if you have the time... make a scrapbook about why you think he is a fabulous dad.

a card from ds with his hand print and foot print on it.

put all pictures of dad and ds pictures together.

do something personal. also try and start a tradition that you can continue each year. anything. like a photo together of daddy and son and taken again in following years to show both of them growing.

Beginning when my dd was 9 months old, I* celebrate Father's Day with a family portrait. I found a local, chain photo studio that always has a special promo going for Mother's and Father's Days, so I get a nice 8x10" for $20. Because the family portrait is now an annual tradition, with the pose of dd standing in front of me, it's been pretty amusing to see through the years as she gets taller and taller!

Many years we also take a train ride on a historic train.

*Because I'm an entirely-solo parent, I celebrate Father's as well as Mother's Day - I am both!

Great minds think alike - that's exactly what we do!
