I had my first appt this morning with a CNM.... I am planning a home birth, but i am taking advantage of my insurance. They ran all my bloodowrk, gave me a script for more progesterone, and prenatals.
The MW was really nice. I liked her. Told her we were thinking of home birth again, and she seemed OK. She set up an ultrasound for a few weeks away for dating, which will likely be the only US I will have. She wants me to come back a couple days after the US and see the DR. I have a very complicated history so she needs to have a doc sign my chart i guess. I figure I will see them then, and maybe in January, then I will pick up with my home birth MW in feb.
She was very reassuring and all. and supportive. Told me not to worry too much, and if i need to call for anything I can. That was nice. She wants to do a 1 hour glucose test soon, but i am not doing that. My blood sugars are fine... and i feel good before and after I eat.

somehow going to the dr made this more real. I am stilll filled with anxiety, but i am excited...

If you are having a homebirth, is it really important to know the exact date? Or are you not sure when you are due at all.

This sounds snarky and it isn't supposed to!

I would feel better if i knew an about date. I think i ovulated late, and then implanted slowly, so i figure that might buy me another week without worry at home. KWIM?? I normally go over, so at the end of it all, according to the chart it would say i am 43 weeks, when in fact i would be 42, which means my midwife can still deliver me at home. I think the law here is over 42 a midwife cannot attend a homebirth, so i need that extra week, IF there is an extra week...

I also think that I am off on my dates quite a bit, because i am supposed to be 5 weeks tomorrow, and yet my hpt are very very very faint, and the line is not immediate...i know that doesnt mean anything, but since this pregnancy is on the tail of 5 consecutive losses, 3 early, one at 21 weeks and one at 18 weeks, i am really really nervous.

I am exhausted and certain i am not making any sense.
