I just had my first period pp (DD is 6 months : ) and my supply has dipped uncomfortably low. I'm on my last day of bleeding (if it wasn't yesterday) and I wonder if there is anything I ought to do to get my supply up or if it will come back on it's own?

I've also been worried about DD and dehydration - she won't starve to death, I'm pretty sure of that, but should I give her some water until I get more milk or would that be foolish?

We've been nursing more than usual but it's kinda painful and not much letdown at all. How can I prevent this next month?

I've gotten a little more milk than I had a couple of days ago, but it still feels insufficient. Anyone know if this will last?

My baby is only three months old, but I am one of the really special mamas who gets her period back right away despite ecological breastfeeding.

I have noticed with my two cycles thus far that I will have a supply dip starting two days before my period and will continue until the third day on my period. Once my period starts, my milk supply goes up little by little each day. Right after my period, I am back to my good ol' milky self again.

My first period took me by great surprise and I wound up spending an entire day in bed with my little one latched almost the entire day due to the dip in milk supply. I was advised to start taking a magnesium/calcium supplement and this greatly helped my supply with my second period. I also made some "lactation cookies", took some fengugreek, and drank some MMT during the days leading up to my period and my supply was much, much better than the month previous.

Wow, I can't even imagine getting my period back 3 months pp! What a bummer!

I feel even fuller today, but am still unsure if I'm back to the same capacity as I was before my period!

I'll look into getting some supplements, thanks for that advice! I'll also keep an eye on when my period starts so I can start nursing her more before the dip.
