I started my first PPAF on Thursday/Friday (some bleeding late thursday, mostly spottish...then full on flow Friday) anyway it was short and pretty light. I had some heavy-ish bleeding on Saturday and then today pretty much nothing. :

I remember my first PPAF after my DS being MUCH heavier than this. It was a change the tampon at the time limit rather than when I over flowed it and even then I only needed regular, with DS I was changing Super Plus every 2 hours sorry TMI....

Any tips? Was it not a 'true' PPAF since it was so light?

Thanks!!

Have yet to see AF after my girls... but with my son, when he was around 9 months and just started sttn, I had one day of spotting - one spot, really. Of course I was at my grandmother's whose house hadn't had a maxipad in it in 30some years so I had to go out and buy something - oh so gleeful to have my cycles back! - only to get back to my grandma's and find there wasn't any more to it. Nothing. Nada.

A month later I had a normal period-length period, normal amount of flow for me.

A month later I had never-ending bleeding that went on and on for weeks... ugh.

Supposedly it can be whacky early on for some women. I don't know if you can count this as a "period" exactly but it's very possible, IMO, that you'll see a real period next cycle, unless you get pregnant first... though it's also possible you won't see anything else for a while.

Helpful, huh?

As for tips - don't use tampons till you know it's real. They hurt like hell when you have to pull them out dry, LOL.

My DD is 18 mos. I had my first PPAF when she was 16 mos. It was super light and lasted 2 days. Same thing the next month, although my normal 28 days was more like 36, super light again, lasted 3 days. This month already no bleeding yet and past my always regular 28 days. I'm just chalking this up to, my periods aren't regular yet....they were normal right away when they resumed with DS. So it seems that once AF does return, she is not always the way she was(but should resume to normal??) My DD still nurses alot!
