Woman, including myself, believe that we feel our babies move as early asa 8-10 weeks, I though I felt my last at 10 weeks and this one around 10, but I have been told over and over agian that it's not possible. So I want to know the facts....for first time moms and moms of many...this will be G-d willing, my 4th. When are we supposed to "Officially" feel our babies move? If I ask my girlfriends who are OB's I know they will tell me 16-18 weeks, I am going to call my MW later today and ask her, but I want to know what other have been told by their OB's and MW's. What is the honost to goodness factually correct truth about first time fetal movement?!!!

I have always heard 16 weeks as a time that you can usually start to feel movement. 20 weeks is when you should feel daily movement. I think that the movement that everyone is referring to are kicks rather than flutters. For many women, flutters are just to hard to distinguish from other intestinal sensations.

But...I felt the first movement with DD at 14 weeks. It was a slow spin that was definitely not gas or me! And I felt this little one at 9 weeks. No doubt about it. The same movements jumping feeling just kept getting bigger and stronger.

My midwife totally believed me that I could feel something so soon. Some women are just more in tune or sensitive in that area. My mother thought it meant something was wrong and I should see a doctor : .
