Any others??

I thought it would be cool to have a thread in case we have special questions/concerns...I guess maybe we should have done this a while ago, but better late than never, right?

I'll start off...have any of you felt your wee one move yet? I'm pretty sure I did last Saturday night (four distinct little "kicks" in my left mid-abdomen), but then part of me thinks I'm just being overly optimistic, KWIM? Of course, as I type this, I just felt another little twinge...could it be? Just curious what y'all are experiencing.

I also have another question...probably TMI...what are your boobs like these days? I was expecting something much more dramatic...mine are bigger and firmer, but nothing like I had heard about...not super dark, etc. You? Just wondering if I'm "normal" (hee, hee)...

OK, that's enough for now. Have a great day!

I think that I sometimes feel movement, and then I think I'm imagining things. Sometimes I have that gassy feeling that other compare it to, but I have a hard time convincing myself that it's baby and not gas
Every once in a while I'll feel something that I can only call a twinge. Like, say some grabbed a chunk of my uterus and twisted it a little. Kinda like that. It didn't hurt, definately not even in the same class as AF cramps, but definately a twinge. I probably just have an over active imagination

My boobs are definately bigger and firmer (much to my bf's glee), but not what I was expecting, either. I think the areola's (sp?) might be larger, but they're not really darker. And honestly, I was expecting porn-star boobs out of the deal. Porn star, I am not... FWIW, I've gone from a 36D to a 38D, and those seem to be getting a bit snug. Then again, maybe they shrunk in the wash *shrugs shoulders*

This is a great idea for a thread--I'm glad you started it!

I'm also a first time mom. It has been an interesting journey.

I felt smth a few times but I'm not sure if they are gas or the little one

they are big and getting darker. They are also itchy which means that I'll probably have some scratches. I'm applying cacao butter, i hope it helps.

Christina, I just had to say that I laughed when you said better late than never regarding starting this thread. I am so impatient for things to happen and I feel that everything is so slow...I still feel we are really early. I want big belly, big movement!

Movement
Ok, this is very exciting, I am pretty sure I felt movement yesterday afternoon. It was kind of like a gassy, fluttery...doodely wat kind of movement, and there was no gas to follow! It was in the same area you described Christina, lower left abdomen. And I think I felt something similar last night. I am super excited. I had tears in my eyes! Rock and Roll, bring it on!!!

Boobs
Mine are bigger, but not so much bigger...the areola is bigger according to my husband, and I guess it is true...what is cool are my montgomery glands are so visible they are like points on a clock around areola...I am getting mama boobs!!! And, I guess they are a little darker, but I see them every day so it is hard to notice the changes. I don't usually wear bras but I can tell they are a bit larger (especially if I attempt to run, yikes...I have to hold my breasts!). BTW you boobs will still get bigger towards the end even more and post partum when your milk comes in! You may have your big giant boobs yet!

Amanda, it sounds like you are having ligament / uterine stretching...ooo, you're cutie is growing!!!

Thanks for the great thread! Paige

This is a great idea!!

Movement:
I could swear I've been feeling movement all week. Not anything regular as in every few hours or so, but fairly consistent in the afternoon or early evening. And I think I'm feeling something now. But my little one feels like its moving all over the place. I'll feel a little kick in the upper right corner, then another one in the middle, then moving down to the lower left... I guess it could be that this one is just moving different parts of their body, but I am imagining that this little guppy is just zooming around tapping me
To me it feel more like those involuntary twitches you get sometimes in your eybrows, that really quick fluttering, but then it stops. I've decided to assume its my little one and just stop second guessing myself Its more fun that way.

Boobs:
My boobs feel gargantuan. I've gone from a 32A to a 32C already, and I'm beginning to wonder if I've already graduated to a 32D (YIKES!). DH LOVES them though, so I guess I'll keep em
My areola are larger I think, but not any darker. I'm a redhead though, so if they suddenly turned brown it would look really odd on my nearly transparent skin
I think my nipples have grown though, and they are alternatively sore and itchy.

Thanks for starting this thread, Christina!

Movement
I'm still not fully convinced I've felt movement yet. I'm in the middle of 17 weeks so it should be happening soon. I'm nearly positive that the twinges I keep feeling are uterine and ligament stretching... and gas. Waiting on those reassuring thumps! I didn't do the doppler heartbeat check at my July appointment and I'm hoping we can hear Lil' Pea's heartbeat with a fetoscope at my August appointment

Boobie Action
Pre-pregnancy, I was a 34D; I'm not sure how much they've grown but my bras are getting pretty uncomfortable. My areolas are darker and bigger and sometimes the itchies are so bad, I've scratched a rash. Yikes!

This is a great thread!

Movement
I'm not sure yet. I've felt something that feels like a little wave inside of me, or a goldfish swimming around ever so slightly. I've also felt some twinges, but nothing definitive. I'm hoping I feel a real jab or kick soon!

Boobs
They're definitely bigger and heavier. I've gone from a 34B to a 36C. I was fitted for maternity/nursing bras, which I HIGHLY recommend. The brand I got is called Bravado and they are so comfortable. The woman at the store told me underwire during pregnancy and nursing is a big no-no, which I didn't know before. My areolas are a little bit darker and have been a little dry. Lotion/oil helps. My nipples seem to be a little bigger, too.

OK ladies, I have another question/concern to share...

Have you made a real connection with your baby yet? Sadly, I don't feel like I have. I mean, I am ECSTATIC to be pregnant, and I'm doing all the stuff I'm supposed to do (eating well, not drinking, etc.), but the reality of it is that I don't *really* feel pregnant yet. Maybe it's because I'm not sure I've felt movement, or that I don't know the sex yet, or that my belly is still very small...

Is it just me? Do you feel a real bond with your baby? If you do, did you work on developing that bond (journaling, talking to the baby, etc.), or did it just sort of happen?

I think this is kind of uniquely a first-time mama thing because we don't yet know what's to come, and so it seems kind of abstract and surreal right now, KWIM?

I have to jump in on this, I'm not a first time mom, but it's been 6 years since I was pregnant with my ds...
I think I'll start to connect with this baby when it starts moving around alot so I can feel it, and other people can too...
And I think that's when it happened with ds too...
It does seem intangible and strange and abstract, and in most ways it will be until the moment you hold the baby in your arms...
My 2 cents...
Sorry to bust in on your thread!!!

I think seeing him on the u/s yesterday really helped me to start thinking of him as my child, a real living being, instead of an abstract thought. I have been talking to him for months now, but since seeing him, it comes a lot easier.
I have been reading to him constantly lately, too (just whatever I'm reading, I just read outloud) and that feels good to me.

As far as movement goes...
I have felt little bumps and flutters for a couple of weeks now, but nothing major. I can't wait to feel a strong kick! Just a couple more weeks now!

And my boobs...
Ugh. I have gone from a 34B to a 36D. No kidding. They are huge, they are beautiful, but I wish I had a bra that fit right! I have always wondered what it would be like to have boobs. Now I know... lol

Movement
You guys might not believe this, but I've been feeling her since I was 14 weeks along (5 weeks ago). At first it was just light, random taps here and there, but they slowly got stronger and more frequent. These days she's been using my uterus as a trampoline!! She likes to bounce off the bottom of my uterus, which feels really weird. She also likes to ricochet all around. I have a feeling I'm going to be one tired mom when she's a toddler

Boobs
I've gone from a 36B to at least about a 40D...could be double D, actually. My husband doesn't mind at all :) They're definitely firmer and my areolas are darker.

Movement:
Don't know if I have felt anything yet or if it is my imagination. Seems like I notice the movement or imagined movement more in the evening.

Boobs:
Well, I have gone from a 34DDD to a 36DD. Not too much fun to carry around. My nipples look funny, but not darker, I don't think. I have transparent skin on my chest, too.

As for bonding:
I feel so much better since the first trimester is over, sometimes I don't *feel* pregnant. I felt all warm and fuzzy seeing the baby on the ultrasound in June, but I'm not sure he/she seems real yet. All the baby stuff people keep buying me looks like something from an alien planet, KWIM? But ultimately, I'm not worried about bonding, I am a beagle mommy after all. And they were all adults when I rescued them so they had already lost their baby/puppy "I'm so cute you can't stand it" looks. I just know this is going to be one good looking, sweet baby! (See, I'm biased already!)

Well, I haven't felt any movement yet, but we're just 14 weeks, so I think that's ok?
Boobs are an A to a B, thought I'd be flat-chested forever!
I felt more in touch with baby during the first tri-mester, had a little trouble and had to be on bed rest for a few weeks, so I spent lots of time talking to him, reading, singing, that sorta thing. We're in the middle of moving now, so I guess I've been a little distracted
