...we are battling thrush. DD is pretty much asymptomatic - but I have it bad. I am doing all the treatments EXCEPT GV so far...b/c I am afraid that the purple stuff with be too much for a 20 month old to mentally handle! This is the girl who won't open her mouth to brush her teeth. I can barely force a cotton swab in her mouth in order to dab with a colorless liquid - will the purple freak her out?

Any tips in general for treating thrush with a BF Toddler as opposed to an infant?

You could try giving probiotics, like cultured milkproducts or lacto-fermented veggies, or just powdered probiotics mixed in with her favorite food (not hot).
When we had thrush I used walnut tincture which is a good antifungal treatment. It's easy to mix the tincture into some food or drink.

Well, we started the GV today and I don't think she minded AT ALL! I just couldn't give her the prescription Nystatin after reading the ingredients!

I have been mixing the probiotics in her soy-milk - but she doesn't drink that much other liquids. I might try putting some in some veggies and pasta today. Good idea to add it in food.

Thanks!
