Who else here is pregnant with their first?
I have had one miscarriage at 5 weeks but I never felt connected to the pregnancy in any way and it was extremely early so I consider this to be my first. So excited! I want to meet the baby but I'm also fascinated with the changes of pregnancy and experiencing all of it. I mean holy ¤#%&! There's another person living in my belly!

Yeah we also conceived pretty much on the first try
wasn't expecting that, and neither was DP
but he's coming around. We were really surprised though. You just hear so much about it usually taking a few months at least.

Another first timer here! Got pregnant on our first try, which was an IUI with frozen donor sperm (has about a 10% chance of working per try), so we're surprised and excited (and relieved - sperm is expensive!)

How are all you first-timers feeling? Are you freaking out about every single symptom or the absence of symptoms (like me
) ? I don't even know what to think... everything feels so weird! I'm really excited and I'm really hoping for this little bean to stick around.

Yup...the very fact that I don't have any really annoying symptoms other than being tired all the time and having a gargantuan chest makes me worry! It helps to read about other people worrying about the same thing...when I first got a BFP, I couldn't convince myself that I had read the tests right until I saw a bunch of mamas talking about being just as paranoid in the Nov DDC.

I'm a first-timer too!
: We also conceived on our first cycle ttc, surprisingly. About symptoms, they worry me a little too. It helps to know that my mom never really had any m/s; just some nausea.

Yeah, kind of. I have had very few symptoms so far, only mildly swollen boobs and constant thirst, plus implantation bleeding. Actually the fact that I am having so few symptoms is what keeps me believing that I actually am pregnant and not just waiting for my period. Oh, and crazy cervical mucus! I keep feeling a warm flow and going to the bathroom almost sure it must be blood, but it's not! I suppose that's a symptom too, but it does make my heart jump a little bit every time. Got to relax... I just have to keep trusting that if this bean is sticky, it's sticky, and my stressing won't help.

My first too and we also got lucky the first time we tried. A bit of a shock. Some of my symptoms I expected, like big sore breats, extreme fatigue and nausea. But some additionally I am way more out going (calling my friends and family more) and I can HEAR everything. This is actually a problem, because every little noise that I never used to hear before (like the faucet dripping in the kitchen) wakes me up.

I had a couple of drops of brown blood and light brown when I wiped in the 5th week and I totally freaked and went in from an ultrasound. Things looked fine, but I have been super paranoid since. I have my first prenatal with my midwife next week and I really really need confirmation that everything is OK.

Another first timer here, conceived on our first month too! I'm staying positive but I'm hyper-aware of every little niggle and ache, symptoms are on and off but hoping the queasiness doesn't escalate into vomming - couldn't handle that. I've also got the crazy CM/discharge happening too, it's a very odd sensation.

I've been talking to my bean when I'm along (usually in the car,) telling him/her to hang in there and that mama loves them
I think forging this type of bond will help cement it into reality for me. And I have months to work on this, so plenty of time! Still in shock that it happened so quick, but I'm so excited.
