Our 5mo DS has become a progressively better napper and progressively worse nighttime sleeper. Of late, he flails and thrashes when put down. He can be completely deep asleep in my arms, but when I put him on the bed, he flails like a madman and wakes himself up. He also is doing this in his sleep in the night which wakes him. I lie really close, hold him against me, but eventually he fights it if the flailing wakes him enough.

Any ideas for calming down a body like his? He won't take swaddling, we massage and calm down before bed, etc. Things only seem to be getting worse.
