Hope I'm not beating a dead horse, but anyone want to offer advise on flats? Particularly, the advantages/disadvantages of them over prefolds. I know they dry super fast and you can fold it to fit any size baby, but what do you specifically like about them over prefolds (or don't like). And what are your favorite kind?
TIA!
We had some thirsties, and then I have some homemade flannel and some cheap gerbers too.

I loved them at the newborn stage, when there was so much poopy laundry.

I love them now because they seem to get cleaner and dry so much faster than prefolds. I never have stink issues with flats.

Now we use them with microfiber towels to stuff our homemade stuffable fitteds.

Next baby, I want to use flats alot more and prefolds less.

Plus, there's just something about learning how to fold a flat to fit your babe that is just so satisfying!

I like that they wash cleaner and dry faster than prefolds. HOWEVER, this is only an issue if you're going to be hand washing and/or line drying indoors. With a regular washer and dryer, prefolds work just as well and are less work to fold.

I also like that a doubled up flat is more absorbent than a regular prefold but quicker drying than a premium prefold. Again, though, regular prefolds work okay for us so I still prefer them.

Other than what has already been mentioned I like that they're trimmer than PF's.

I love my flats. I have some cheap Gerber and some vintage C urity that my MIL gave to me.

I love how clean they get, how quick they dry, how versatile you can fold to make them really trim.

I use my flats on vacation for the 1st few days or any other time that I will not be able to wash for a week or more. No matter what I've done to them, they always come clean!

(I know, yeah, I take my CD's with me on vacation.. it woundn't feel like vacation to me if I had to leave my soft squishy hobby at home) :
