I want to cut my drying time, as I no longer have a dryer & we are in a somewhat humid area. I'm using third-hand ME Sandys right now, and it's just ridiculous how long they take to air dry. If I want to get some quicker-drying stuff, though, I have to do it cheaply. Is it worth it to buy flat dipes if I have a sewing machine and just enough ability to hem the flat dipes I make? Are flats less absorbant than prefolds? I use wool covers, if that helps.

I use two Gerber birdseye flats in my FuzziBunz for nighttime diapering. Now, I don't have a super-soaker, but this works well for us.

I also have some high quality birdseye flats that are as absorbant as my ubcpf - or at least pretty close. These flats are 36x36. See www.diapershop.com for the same birdseye fabric.

All of these wash up very well, sun stains out lightnight fast and dry even faster.
