I've been dying of curiosity about flats! Can someone tell me about them? What are they made of? Where do you get them? Have you used them on a newborn (what I would probably want them most for - in the future! :LOL )

TIA!

I have been FLAT-OBSESSED lately!! I have also found that you can use a variety of material for flats! I have been having fun with my old receiving blankets lately
I also have some dyed flats from pipsqueak diapers that I love....flannel and birdseye. I really like using the kite fold and then folding another flat into a doubler and laying it inside for extra absorbancy...
I have a six week old that i'm using flats on and it's great!! I like the origami fold for her and the kite fold for my toddler! It's so simple and lots of fun...
Jump into "Flat-Land" with me... :LOL

:LOL Thanks for the info! I've got total baby brain lately, so I've been planning a newborn stash.
: I think I'm gonna have to take a closer look at flats and try them on my 16-month-old. Prefolds were WAY too bulky for a newborn! Poor DS will have to be my guinea pig!! :LOL

I have a 16 month old too and the flats are super trim on him!! I've used my infant prefolds on my 6 wk old and she winds up having a mega-booty! I wound up having to adjust the straps on her carseat when she wears pf's :LOL

:LOL We have to do that with a bunch of our dipes in the carseat too! A nice trim going out option would be great!
Looks like the flats are winning in that department cause we can't use anything with PUL......Off to find me some flats!

We have tons of flats. They are the only dipe we travel with and the only newborn dipe we had. We have only the basic birdseye flats from Granitesmiths on ebay. I love folding them and they dye so easily. Washing them over a camp fire is very calming. I have had the same
: 6 doz. for about 2 years now and they still look new.

When Ds#2 was a newborn we used one, oragami folded. As he got bigger we added one as a soaker and used the kite fold. I snappi all of them.

I just love
our flats.
