I have acquired a huge amount of fleece. I was thinking I could give some to a friend to make some fleece soakers--are these as water proof as the Thirsties and Bummis covers I have? Do you use them over prefolds? Also, I suppose I could use some of the fleece as doublers...anyone done this successfully? If it wicks away moisture, could it also be useful between baby's skin and the prefolds?

Anything else I can do with fleece (I have a huge bag full!!)?

ETA: Does anyone have a link to a pattern for longies, skirties, etc? I found one for soakers through searching but didn't see anything else.

Fleece can make a really good stay dry liner... I like to put it on top of the prefold or fitted when they are in them for a longer period of time, like naps or bed. Fleece soakers aren't as waterproof as a PUL cover, I don't use fleece out of the house, plus they are bulkier, but I LOVE my fleece soakers for hanging out around the house. He seems much comfier in them
