Hi-
I have a fleece problem. My Honeyboys smell like pee pee!!!

All other diapers smell great, but the fleece reeks. What could be causing this, and what can I do about it?
Oh, and I don't know if this is of significance or not, but after the first prewash, I noticed the Honeyboys outers, which are WindPro, were only wet in spots instead of all over. Could my fleece be repelling?
The fitteds I have that are lined with microfleece smell a little, too - and I think they seem less absorbant.

Any ideas?

What kind of detergent do you use? Powders work best on fleece. Because of the way fleece is made, liquid detergents just coat the materials rather than really getting it clean.

I use All Free and Clear liquid, and because of our hard water, Calgon too. The All liguid is what seems to work best, and is one of the only things that doesn't bother dd....
I only have 5 fleece dipes, I would hate to do a seperate load just for them with different detergent...
Any other opinions? Could the fleece be repelling?

Though Im not sure about Honeyboys I know Fuzzi Bunz and Happy Heinys (fleece diapers) both recomend NOT using All free and clear. It leaves a residue on the fleece. Can you try another detergent to see if this solves your stinky problem? I recommend stripping them in the mean time.

We use Allen's Naturally (recommended by Fuzzibunz) on our pocket dipes and haven't had any problem with the microfleece repelling pee. However, there is sometimes a lingering stink on poopy dipes even though they're obviously clean. It goes away after a couple of washes, but is irritating! Another thing - wouldn't you want the windpro to repel water? That's it's job as the waterproof outer part of the diaper...
