My son will be having his adenoids removed shortly. With his adenoids being so enlarged it has caused his ears to hold onto fluid for some time. I am looking for a way to get this gunky stuff out without resorting to ear tubes. My allopathic Dr. explained to me that the fluid becomes more gunky the longer it stays in the ear and that ear tubes are the only way to siphon it out.

I am looking for other options.

Thanks
Amy

The adenoids removed may let it drain but my dd got tubes with her adenoid removal. They don't hurt and when they come out the eardrum closes up! It also may improve her hearing which may be muffled from that fluid! I speak from personal experience having had tubes in my 20s.
