It does not have the mercury like the shot does, so it's got that going for it. I don't know what other nasties are in it though, besides the live flu virus. Plus it has the potential to spread (up to 3 weeks or more). So it can make the person who got it sick, and/or spread it to others around them.<br><br>
Plus the flu vaccines are a crapshoot every year.

It is a live virus spray and should be avoided like the pest imo.<br><br>
Why would I want to spray live viruses up my kids' nose? When we are trying to avoid it in every other way. Just a money making scheme.

The Flumist sheds for 3 weeks in kids so says the CDC Pink book though I imagine thats true for everyone just not kids.<br><br>
Lovely, kids walking around for 3 weeks spreading vaccine viruses to all the come in contact with. How many people does a person come into contact with in 3 weeks on the average I wonder?

It's rather brilliant, in a diabolical way...<br><br>
Lots of people running around shedding live viruses to make the ones who didn't get the vaccine--or maybe got a different vaccine--sick. Then they all rush out to get the FluMist to prevent getting sick again the next flu season...<br><br>
