We will be flying with our 3 year old in June, and I'm trying to get some advice from parents who have btdt, since this will be our first trip with her. We have a Nautilus carseat for our car, but I'm worried that will be too big for the plane. We actually don't need to bring our carseat because my parents have the same seat, and they will be picking us up at our destination. I was thinking of renting one of these CARES harnesses from ebay. Has anyone used one of these? DD is 40 inches, 37 lbs, if that makes a difference. Also, what about snacks and water bottles? I've checked the Delta website and have not been able to find out what is allowed or not. We have Klean Kanteens that I wanted to bring (empty until after going through security and then fill with water), but as far as snacks go, I'm not sure what is allowed. Any ideas? Any other advice? All thoughts are appreciated!

I've taken my nautilus on the plane and it fits, but you have to have it either wanded at security or take it apart to fit through the xray machine. If you have one on the other end, I wouldn't bring it. With CARES or just the seatbelt, she'll be able to use the tray table which is too low to use with the nautilus.

As for snacks, I've never had them say I couldn't bring something through. I've even been allowed to take juice boxes through for the kids. So I wouldn't worry. And I've never had an issue with KK and security either. I've even accidentally taken them through full!

The Nautilus works great on the plane, but like Dahlia said they just will have to wand it at security. We've never had a problem. We did have one assinine FA who wouldn't let us take it on the plane, but that was an isolated incident. It installs really well
