hey all... i totally need to hang out here more! Cool.

Ok, I am the cook for my mom and dh.... both work at the university, and dh also works with kids.... so they're always bringing home the schniffles....

DS and I (knock wood) have great immunity, and almost never get it from mom and dh... but how can i make dh and mom more immune-strong???

Garlic, for sure, and other alliums, too. Warming herbs and spices...ginger, curry, turmeric, etc. Colorful veggies, greens and oranges in the winter. Lemons, and homequeezed honey-lemon-ginger-ade instead of OJ. Few cold things in the cold weather. Bone broth. Miso soup. Any soup. Bone broth with immune enhancing herbs added, like astragalus, eleuthero, codonopsis. Elderberries. Lactofermented veggies. And more garlic, raw, by the way!
