So, we're at the vet today, who prescribed some meds that we needed to get at a pharmacy. We went down to Longs Drugs and found out that they were gonna cost us $80. The cashier said that CSAA (aka "triple A" or "AAA") has a pet meds discount program. My dh showed them his AAA card (thank gawd I renewed our membership!!) and the $79 turned into $19!!! That almost paid for the renewal fees. Yahoo!!!

They also said that someone came in earlier today for anti-seizure meds which would have been $480, but with the AAA card, about $80. OMG!

Hope this helps someone! : AAA ROCKS!

Seriously??? is that only in CA or all AAA? My dog takes 2 pills a week for life that we have to get filled at a human pharmacy and they're pricey.

This is what I found online from CSAA:

Find a Pharmacy - AAA Prescription Savings® Program

AAA Members can now show their AAA Membership card at over 600 pharmacies in

Northern California, Nevada, and Utah, and save an average of 15% on brand-name prescriptions and an average of 35% on generic prescriptions.

AAA Members and their families can use the AAA Prescription Savings® program for any prescription that is not covered by insurance. Savings vary by drug and by pharmacy.

AAA Prescription Savings is not an insurance plan. Savings are only available at participating pharmacies. Your savings may vary by pharmacy, prescription strength, dosage and quantity. Savings figures are compared to the usual and customary prices and may include home delivery. The program administrator may obtain manufacturer rebates and other fees based on your prescription drugs. These rebates and other fees may be retained by the program administrator or shared with you and/or your pharmacy. Cannot be combined with any other discounts.
Seems like it could be the program that the pharmacy was talking about. But I received way more than a 35% discount. : I'm not asking questions though.

I checked the Arizona AAA and they have a "AAA Prescription Savings" listed in their member handbook and online. Maybe that's the same thing? Sure sounds like it!

Wow, that is awesome. I'm going to have to check and see if they have anything like this at AAA south. Since most of my friend have health insurance they wouldn't use it on themselves, but I know some who have pets with meds!

YEP!!!! AAA South has it too. I would go back and change your title for members having triple A.

For generics it is also 35%!!! All you have to do is go to their site, print out a prescription card. It says at their site, it's eligible for pets too!

http://www.aaasouth.com/Savings/Prescriptions.aspx
