here's an example of one of my REALLY dumb gardening questions. Now you won't feel so bad.
But first- even I know this makes me beyond dumb to not know this, but I really don't.
I made a pot of ham and beans last night and got to thinking. Where do the beans come from? Like okay...so you GROW great northerns in your garden?
What does that look like? Do they grow on a vine like other types of beans? And are the beans dry and they just hang from a little pod? Or do you dry them and store them. Can those be planted and they start a bean plant.
I'm going to bow out now.
And YES, I do have a garden this year. Wish me luck.:

I may be digging myself in deeper here, but you know how in grade school you had a little bean and put it in a cup of water and it would grow roots, or sprout or something...is this along those lines?
See...my gardening questions are SO base, I can't ask anyone in real life. I know enough to pretend to have some dignity.
