I'm brainstorming ideas of what supplies, birth aids, etc. can we do now while we still have some energy & don't feel like crap
to make things easier...

Like:
* Preparing meals to be frozen & reheated after the baby is born.
* Assembling calming music, aromatherapy EOs, candles, etc. for the actual birth.
* Getting together "gifts" for siblings (like a new coloring book & crayons) to help occupy the older sibling while mama's nursing.

I'm getting together a huge box of anything I think I'll need but isn't in the birth kit, towels, washclothes, dry snacks, etc.... DH never seems to be able to find anything in our house, and the last thing I want is to ask him to get me something while I'm in labor, only to have him come back and say that he couldn't find it.

I'm a planner and I'm planning ahead to holidays and B-Days that will be comming up quickly after babe is born. I've already bought dd's little friends B-Day gifts, and dd and I are getting ready to start making soap that will be our holiday gift to give out. DD's B-Day is right after the first of the year, and I'll order her gift before this babe comes. I'm remembering dd's awful colic, that the fact that I could barely take a shower for months, so I'm doing anything that I can ahead of time in case it happens again.

I signed DH and DD up for swim lessons right around when baby is coming to insure that they get quality time together instead of DH intending to take DD somewhere and then it never actually happens.

That's all I can think of right now.

This will be our first HB so I'm trying to be pretty prepared too. I am getting all the regular supplies for starters and I'm gonna try to have it all organized in the bedroom as well. I am ordering a kit but there are other things I've purchased like inexpensive sheets, olive oil, towels (to replace the older towels that will be used during birth), etc. For me preparation also involves practicing hypnobirthing, writing, and painting. I'm trying to finish up a painting right now that has a bunch of positive birth affirmations that I wrote. It is my way of preparing. I will also try to really stock up on groceries and prepared meals too. Lastly, I'm having a blessingway at my home the month before and that is part of my mental and emotional preparation as well -- to bring lots of positive engery into the home. Oh, and of course we have been reading books to DD and talking about what the birth will be like to prepare her too. I also envision having a clean bathroom that day.

Towels, tinctures, some disposible chux pads (or puppy pads) and a HUGE washable one, fetoscope, fish scale... I think that's probably it!
