Remember 2000? When numerous Representatives tried to challenge the debacle that was the Florida vote and not a single Senator would stand with them and allow the vote to be challenged?

That began the erosion of our right to have all of our votes counted. Let's ask our senators to take a stand this time:

http://capwiz.com/pdamerica/mail/one...lertid=6770366

I don't think that the 'official result' will be overturned and that Kerry will become President (if only...). But it is time for us to stand up and say that disenfranchising voters is still wrong and we aren't going to stand for it any longer.

Please contact your senators (the above link makes it easy!) and ask them to take a stand for the rights of EVERY American (not just the WASPs living in suburbia )

Voter Fraud has been taking place for decades. My uncle was a precinct worker and vote counter in 1936, and he said that he saw many ballots were thrown out for certain candidates.

Furthermore, the election of 1960 was decided on the votes from a Chicago County famous for registering voters from the cemetary.

I guess voter fraud only matters if it is your candidate.

Well, yes and no. This isn't voter fraud, this is balloting machines fraud.

Did you know that five states' electors refused to certify the vote? Do you know why? Did you see any articles about the testimony of board of election workers in Ohio about how the private companies who own the machines, tampered with them?

Here's a link to the story on Truthout. Unfortunately the link for the NY Times story is down:

http://www.truthout.org/docs_04/121604Z.shtml

Do you know that the House of Representatives is involved, that all the Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee have been holding hearings in Ohio?

Yes, perhaps this has happened before, but I don't think so! And if it has, aren't you glad that someone is finally trying to do something about this? I think it makes Watergate look like a tea party.

Well, not to me, it doesn't.

I do find the 1960 case fascinating, though. It was quite clear from what I understand that Chicago was just CORRUPT. But, Nixon conceeded with no "problems." Then later we have Nixon implicated in Watergate. I find it ironic that the candidate who had been screwed due to voter fraud then, well, you all know the story... :LOL

Applejuice - I don't want to see ANY fraud in our elections. No matter who the fraud 'benefits'.

I can't do a thing about the 1960 election, you know? I realise that Kennedy was 'elected' due to fraud. Not at all OK, but it was 40+ years ago, you know?

All I can do now, is to stand up and say that I want fraud stopped now. So that's what I'm trying to do.

If we all keep saying that 'well, it was done by the other side 40 years ago', and that is our excuse for not trying to stop it now, then we will never have fair elections where both sides can be confident that the 'winner' really was the choice of the people.

I am saying that no one did anything then, and therefore the precedent has been set.

For most people in the "voting industry", it is business as usual, and they want to know why anyone is complaining about it now. It is a "tradition".

Neither can I since I was only six years old.

I cannot do anything about the 2000 election, either. I was three time zones away where the polls were still open.

I have finally decided that voting is not worth it any more, and I am no longer participating.

Not that any one will miss me...

Really? In Washington state the margin I heard was 10. The Dem candidate won the recount by 10 votes before a bunch previous discarded were counted.

Now suppose those 10 people, or any 10 people who voted for her, had had that attitude? Suppose the 100+ the margin is with those other votes counted had had that attitude. EVERY vote counts, IF we can get the [email protected] things counted!
