Hi there. I started going to acupuncture last month in the hopes that it might help with fertility. I have no idea if it will help, but I do find the sessions very relaxing, and it has helped somewhat with some back issues that I have (despite not being treated for that). My question is regarding the safety of using certain acupuncture points in the luteal phase (after implantation would be possible). Online I have read very conflicting things, some sites list certain points that supposedly should not be stimulated after O, some do not make it sound like an issue. I am due for a session today, at about 9dpo, and TCM doctor I see seems to use pretty much the same points every session (including a few that I have seen as contraindicated after O). what have other people experienced?? Do you have different points after O? Does your acupunturist recommend treatment during luteal phase? I know the odds are slim that I am pregnant this cycle but I don't want to do anything to decrease my chances...but I also don't want to go less often for acupuncture if there is no potential harm.
I will try asking my acupuncturist what she thinks, but wanted some other ideas as well.
Thanks!

my first acupuncturist was like that. He did the same points all the time. The one I go to now switches things up based on my cycle and always asks me where I am at in my cycle. Mine is also up on Randine Lewis' book as well as TCOYF. You might jsut tell her what you have read and ask her about it.

Hi massaginmommy! Hmmm...I so wish I could know what is best. Mine never asks where in my cycle I am and just does pretty much the same points every time. I will definitely ask her about it. The place I am going is the only place in the city that touts themselves as having a specific fertility focus (they do other acupuncture and TCM, but advertise their fertility clinic specificially)...other places in the city offer acupuncture, but I don`t know what their experience with fertility issues issues is. The person I am going to has many years of experience here and in China, but I don`t find her the easiest person to communicate with. I appreciate your response. I am guessing that your current acupuncturist does avoid certain points after O...
