I went to a bridal shower on Sat and one of the girls tried something out and I want to see if it works... she claims she has never been wrong...

Feel your pulse in both wrists (remember not with your thumb but with your fingers....)

Which side can you feel the pulse stronger?

okay I just did this - my pulse is marginally stronger on my right side...and I'm having a boy

does this correlate?

Ok, at first, I had no pulse on the right side (I'm dead! Oh no!

), then found it on my left side, then felt the right side again, and this time felt it over there. So going back and forth a couple times, it appears to be stronger on the right side.

I'm having a boy.

I usually find it in my neck.

I'll wait until later when it's quieter in the house and try it again. We *don't* know gender, so I always think these tests are fun

Here's the fun part. I finally found my pulse in my wrists yesterday - and I had my husband do it, too...

He said stronger on the right. I feel it stronger on the left.

These ideas NEVER work out for me!

My pulse is definitely stronger on the left, and we are expecting a boy. I am left handed so that may affect results.

Mine was stronger on my left, we don't know what we're having but I'd love another little girl.... but then of course, I would be so thrilled about a little boy as well- I guess I'm excited to be having a new baby!

Here is where that comes from:
It is a chinese medicine thing. The meridians on your right side are seen as male and the left side is female. This holds true in many cultures. The thing is, this system IS always right, BUT- it is not very accurate when you do it yourself. Also there are three levels of pulse at different depths. The only way to be really sure is to have an acupunturist or other CMD do it. LOL

But sounds like you have a girl Paxye. Congrtats.

Actually the girl that tried it on me was an acupunturist! cool!! I am still not 100% convinced though (but I wasn't 100% convinced after the U/S for the boys either)

I have to see it (or lack of it) to believe it

... but intuition wise I will be a bit surprised if this one is a boy... (though it might just be wishful thinking too

)
