I just had my baby on the 2nd. We were discharged on the 4th and he had a bit of jaundice. Now, I know it was a holiday weekend, but the nurse wanted me to call and see if he'd see me or give me a lab order to check his bili. I called the emergency line, since they were closed. They were so rude and would not help me at all, because he'd never been seen before? Even the nurse called and got the same treatment.
I called them before he was born and told them I wanted him to be his Dr. I just felt really awful after talking to her.

My question for you all is....Is it hard to get in for sick appts? Are they nice and workable there? I had just made up my mind to find somewhere else, but thought I would ask here first.

Hmm...I don't know who answer the after hours line, if it's regular office staff or not. I'm sorry you had a bad experience.

I have not had problems getting in for sick visits. I've only recently started taking my kids there, but I've been going there for a while. I've had a fairly positive experience with the office staff, and I love Jolena Kingrey, the FNP, who is who my family usually sees.

It's possible that since they are a Family Practice, not a regular Peds office, that they just don't know how to process things for someone who isn't officially a patient yet.

Many congrats on your baby : . Let me know if you have any other questions.

We have been going there for 6 months since DD was born. The office staff is hit and miss I think. The first time I went I thought "what a pleasant office. the receptionist is using a low voice and makes the whole waiting room really calm."

the next time a different receptionist was yaking and yelling and it was such a nerve racking experience.

I like the nurses and doctor though!

Sorry you had a bad experience. I think those first few days are so awful and harried. I switched to Jeffries after firing my initial ped on day 4
