I am DYING for some of these:

http://maplegrove.stores.yahoo.net/candy1.html

Growing up in CT, you'd think we had access to this whenever we wanted. Not so! My parents were very poor when I was a child and even though we were definitely better off as I got older, my mother was still stingy (she'd buy for herself but wouldn't share). By the time I was old enough to get my own, I couldn't find them anywhere!
: But when I did, oh, it was heavenly.
:

I now live in Texas. Texas is a whole different country from everywhere else in the US. I like it! But I do miss my maple syrup and my maple candy.
And sometimes even the snow. I miss playing in snow and showing the kids how to sled and ice skate and make snowmen! (We try to take trips back to see family every couple of years during winter.)

So Friday we were driving to even further South Texas to the il's and I made dh stop at the last Cracker Barrel on the route just so I could get a small box of these precious candies that fill my heart with joy and glee.

I want more. I don't want just a box. I want an ENTIRE DARN FACTORY thank you!!!

I'm going to Cracker Barrel later, whether DH wants to or not.

I also might try to make them at home this week. Kids are with il's till Saturday.

Umm, yeah... pass the sugar and carbs!
I told DH a few minutes ago that I NEED cinnamon rolls. In fact, what I really need is the cinnamon rolls pictured in a catalog.. that I can't possibly get for days, and if it were to take that much effort, I'd overcome my craving and just not get them. Which is why I don't have them. Yet.

And my MW comes in two days (thought it was today!) and I need to be eating well. Um, but I NEED cinnamon rolls!! I do, I do! So what does my helpful hubby say? "Go get some; I'll eat 'em!" I can't decide if he's being helpful or not.

Mmmm...

Yes, yes, there is definitely a NEED for our cravings. It's not a 'want' as in "I could do without" it's a NEED. I MUST HAVE these delicious goodies.

My cracker barrel was out. SOB!!!! So tomorrow I'm going to the one by the mw's house and I'm gonna get me some, dang it!

Oh, how unfair!! At least there are others you can get to. Around here there's ONE Cracker Barrel and it's a 30-40 minute drive. I do love taking road trips, though - it's the perfect spot to stop!

I did go get cinnamon rolls tonight...
: SO naughty, but, um, like you said... NEED!! (Just don't tell my MW!!)

What is it with cinnamon rolls? I have been wanting them a lot this pregnancy. I had one yesterday but the craving goes on.

And ice cream, but really that is a constant for me pregnant or not (that and chocolate).

I have been doing better with the protein since I have gotten so many great suggestions from the other thread. So I guess this comment goes there. Oh well.

Mmmm...I LOVE maple anything! I grew up in New England and my grandmother used to make her own maple candy. It's wonderful stuff!

Now, I live about a half hour from Parker's Maple Barn, which has both the melt in your mouth maple candy and the hard maple candy. They also have all sorts of other goodies! We got there every spring to get a gallon of grade B maple syrup and see the sugaring process! Yum!

I think I'm going to have to have some waffles for breakfast now!

Have you tried the Maple Nut Goodies made by Brach's. You can buy a bag at most grocery stores (even Target) for about $2.50. Not sure if they're the same but I had them growing up and they sound so good right now that you mentioned it!!!

I stopped by a friend's house yesterday to go on a walk and her house smelled so wonderful of cinnamon rolls- only she was making tri tip with teriyaki sauce! Oops, maybe I had cinnamon rolls on the brain. lol!

Justthatgirl, I live in Massachusetts in the heart of maple country. I'm spoiled because I can get maple candy all year round. Have you ever had maple cream? It's really good on toast. Anyways, if you want some, I *might* be persuaded to feed your habit...
