He's so tiny! That's all I can keep thinking. His brother was 8lb 5oz and he is just 7lbs on the dot. But, oh-so precious!

I had been technically in early labour since Saturday evening - contractions went from 3 mins to 10mins, back to 3 mins all the way until late Monday when my midwife came and gave me a sweep at about 10pm. She suggested I take two Gravol and sleep and it would likely happen the next morning. But, an hour after she left things picked up and I had dh call her back at 1am.

By the time she arrived at 1:30am, I was crawling around on the ground during contractions. Dh had filled the pool but we had run out of hot water so, although it was nice and refreshing from the heat, Liz (the midwife) said we wouldn't be able to birth in it. So, we got my mom to start boiling water downstairs since once I had gotten in the pool (I was about 5-6cms when I got in) I simply couldn't imagine getting out.

We managed to heat the pool up enough and it felt soooo good. The contractions were INTENSE! I had an epidural with ds#1 at 5cms so all these sensations were new to me. I was stuck at 7cms for a while and the midwife said my water needed to be broken to move along, but she didn't want to do it until the backup midwife was closer to our place.

But, then my water broke on it's own and the next contraction sent me shooting through the pool with the most incredible need to push. Although Liz kept telling me to not push so the backup could arrive, I pushed him out four contractions later!

During the second last contraction the backup midwife called to get our house# and DH had to answer it while holding my hand as I let out the most insane screams. She was just outside but didn't make it in time.

Forrest Scott was born in the water in our tiny home in family housing at the university at 3:26am... so quick and so amazing! It felt sooooo good when his head finally popped out. And, like I said before, he's so tiny!

He's been nursing great and sleeping soundly. I've gotten some sleep and I'm feeling pretty good. I had a teensy tear, not enough for a stich.

Ds#1 (3.5years old) is in love with him and just wants to lie down next to him and touch him and kiss him... so beautiful

My boys... I'm in love with them both so much.

Best wishes to you all,
