Hey everyone,

yesterday at 10:30 PM i called my doctor because i had slightly regular but painless contractions. No water, no bleeding, no pain. I spent the night in the hospital, got a Bricanyl injection and Dexamethason this morning. I have to sleep in the hospital today and tomorrow, but the rest of the day i can spent home. I have no symptoms so far, a bit high pulse rate. This is my 30th week. I know i had a lot of work lately and the warm weather...ad who knows. But from Monday i have to quit my job and stay in bed for the last 10 weeks (at least i hope so).
I just want to share it with you guys, wish me luck, or write some advices or opinions or whatever you would like to. I keep you all posted.
I'm not due in August, but just wanted to give you a I went into preterm labor last year with my son at 30 weeks and was placed on bedrest. I spent a week in the hospital on mag sulfate and then 5 weeks on terbutaline at home, my son was born full term at 39 weeks, a healthy 8 lb 3 oz. Good luck, mama, I just wanted to share my experience with you since it had a good outcome.

When I was pregnant with my daughter I kept having preterm contractions and I kept having to be hospitalized on iv's. The cause? Dehydration. That might not be your problem but you mentioned the warm weather so I thought I'd mention it. Make sure you are drinking at least eight 8 ounces glasses a day. Good luck.

P.S. my son was a 34 weeker and while he did have to spend 1 week in the NICU he is now 4.5 years old and doing wonderfully. Hopefully you won't go early but if you do it can still have a good outcome. He was my first as well. Oh and I did make it full term with my daughter.

I can totally understand getting freaked out, especially when you have to stay in the hospital and then be on bed rest! OMgoodness, dear!

I'm praying everything will get back to normal as far as the baby is concerned. Just remember to talk to the baby so you can get the most accurate feedback. Tell the baby that you're scared, and ask the baby how he/she feels and if everything's OK. Tell the baby that if something is wrong, please tell you exactly what it is. Then tell the baby of your love and that you will do everything possible to make sure he/she spends the next 10 weeks in perfect comfort.

I just find that anytime I get concerned about something, it always helps to just go inside and talk with the baby.

Yay, Liv! I'm so glad she's active and kicking, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will be smooth sailing from here.

Liv,
I'm so sorry you are having to go through this. I know how scary it can be, I had my DD at 24 weeks and with this pregnancy I've been on complete bedrest since 19 weeks, four of which were spent in the hospital. Please try to relax and just enjoy the time you have with this baby inside, it makes such a difference.

Best wishes,

Yeah, i had to re-think things, i know, this baby is the most important thing in my life right now, i have to stop thinking about myself, my job etc....it is not easy. I have learned so many things during the couple of days and i think i finally grew up for this new lifestyle, the baby and me...anyway, somehow it is a relief to stop and lay down whenever i want, choosing books to read, cooking new meals, buy things for my little girl....
Thanks for all your support!
