I got a puppy the day before our home was SUPPOSED to arrive. It has been a couple months, and no such luck, so due to our home situation, and the fact that I have too much to do, I am trying to find a home for this sweet puppy. He is a black lab mix. Not sure what he is mixed with. The people I got him from said he and another puppy had been dumped off on their property. He will probably be a medium sized dog.

Also, my cat disappeared when we moved down here, probably eaten by something and these 2 cats showed up. They are both male. One is a black kitten, and the other is kinda like a grey tiger...I think he is a hemingway, but no double paws like they typically have.
I have no clue where these cats are from. They are sweet and loveable, but I have no money to pay to fix somebody else's cats, and if I take them to the Aspca, they will be euthanized
PM me if you want any of the above pets.

please go to www.petfinder.com to contact rescues and shelters in your new area. they don't kill, animal control is the one that will kill them.

You did ask for some money, right?

Free to a Good Home: A Death Sentence

Unfortunately, "free" is too often seen as "worthless" in the eye of the beholder. This is how some people see your giveaway pet:

FREE bait to train fighting dogs and greyhounds
FREE snake food
FREE sacrifice for satanic rituals
FREE animal for malicious pranks
FREE to a good home to breed indiscriminately
FREE fish bait
FREE money from the research lab
FREE animal to set on fire
FREE animal to insert a firecracker into

PLEASE don't offer your companions FREE to a good home unless you just don't care what happens to them. Volunteers who work endless hours to save pets from the horror of abuse and homelessness bring this message to you.

Well, geez, nice of you to judge me like that!
Gosh, of course I care what happens to them. I am sure there aren't any people here that abuse their pets. That is why I went here first.
To answer the question about asking for money, I said in the ad that the only adoption fee is the vet bills. Once they have given me the money for the vet bills, I take the animal(s) to the vets, and get them fixed, shots, etc....and then they go to their new home.
As far as the cats, I could have been cruel like some other people when strays show up, they bring them to the pound, where 40 are killed each day. I am not cruel. They weren't mine to begin with, and yet I am paying for their food, and searching for a home for them. I am sorry if you weren't trying to be mean, but you really put me on the defensive here.

autumn, in addition to running the classified ads on petfinder, i recommend that you do a search through them for local rescues if you haven't already. i had to surrender a dog this spring, and using petfinder i was able to locate every rescue group in my area and i called every one of them. most of them were full, but several offered to help me out.
it's on the right-hand side of their site, down a bit. it says SHELTERS, then local shelters, and by state/province. there's also a button at the very top of the page.
i just don't think the classifieds get much traffic there.

and i think ilaria was just trying to make sure you knew that labs that do animal testing go through want ads and take the "free to good home" ones. i'm sure she didn't mean to insult you!

hope you can find good homes for them! it sucks to have to give animals up, and it's so hard because there are just too many homeless animals out there.

I didn't judge nor was I trying to insult you. I was making sure you were aware of that, some people aren't. I have been in rescue for 5 years and many people assume all people have the best intentions.

Sorry, living with my in-laws too long has made me more defensive. I didn't mean to be rude
I agree with you both, and I had actually intended that somebody who took the pets would not be able to have them unless they were going to have them fixed. I will go through petfinder now, to see where I can call! Thanks to you both!
