i am having a hard time figuring out ways to get my name out there. i am a member of a professional editors group, but somehow that is not enough to get work coming in.
any ideas about cheap advertising would be welcome. i do have a website.\thank!

I would encourage you to tap into your connections made at previous jobs. My dh is a ft freelance editor/writer and the bulk of his clients early on (he has been doing this 5 years) were former employers and connections made through jobs. Over the years he has also picked up a bit of word of mouth business as well.
