My friends filled our freezer for us before DD was born. DH is a big meat eater, so some of these were vegetarian dishes and some were definitely NOT. Everything froze very well and was very tasty. DH did manage to make up rice or pasta for the curries, chilis & stroganoff, and my mom kept our fridge stocked with fresh veggies for salads, fresh fruit and juices.

Everything was either in ziploc freezer bags or those new oven-safe plastic trays (Glad brand, I think). I usually don't like eating food cooked in plastic, but I wasn't complaining when I got to sit down to a hot meal that someone else made

All sorts of foods freeze well, but this is what was in our freezer:

massaman curry (pumpkin, potatoes, carrots, other veggies in coconut milk with Thai massaman curry paste)

green chile enchiladas

chocolate chip cookie dough (just thaw slightly, slice & bake)

baked macaroni & cheese

and other assorted casseroles.
I made bean and cheese burritos and cheese tortillinis with a sundried tomatoe pesto sauce to freeze when we got home from the hospital. Also I ate a lot of veggie burgers (hamburgers for the SO) and salad.

another thing thats good to freeze is black bean soup.
