Why are we not supposed to refreeze breast milk?

We took a little bag (2 oz) out today, didn't use it, and it thawed before we could put it back in freezer. I'm trying to build up my freezer supply, whats the reasoning behind not just sticking it back in there (I did, until I get a good answer). It was still cold when we put it back in there.

I'll toss it if there's a good reason.

Thanks,
Dr. Sears The Baby Book says that re freezing thawed breast milk will allow bacterial growth which is harmful to the baby.

Thank you, I thought it might be in that book somewhere, but I'm still waiting for it to come from the library and I haven't read it yet.

Refreezing can also affect the proteins in the milk, making it less nutritious overall.
